Walking up and down Primrose Hill had me feeling exceptionally hungry, so I walked the few blocks…read moreover to Camden Town. I wanted something that was grab-and-go, and on the sweet side to wash out the flavor of mediocre pulled pork and cheap macrobrewed beer, so a creperie seemed to be the obvious choice. This stand is in the Inverness Street market, extremely conveniently located right off the Camden Town underground station. The menu is actually fairly extensive for a stand like like this. 20-25 different crepes in all, half sweet and half savory gluten-free galettes(though I believe you can also have these on a flour-based crepe as well). The menu also has beverages, like coffee, fresh juice, and more. The staff are extremely friendly and will happily help you find the perfect crepe to suit your mood. The preparation can also be quite dramatic and fun to watch, which seemed to be a big hit with kids. I wound up with the Africanism, which consisted of your choice of chocolate(white, milk, or dark) combined with coconut and rhum. The crisp edges were perfectly matched with the rich white chocolate. The crunch of the coconut and the slight hint of rhum really added a lot of depth to the flavor of the crepe. I walked away with it piping hot and satiating my sweet tooth and desire for a quick treat. This stand is simple, convenient street food, with 90% of the menu coming in at under 4£, it's a great stop for something easy to eat as you begin your walk through the extensive Camden markets.

L'Amuse-bouche - The stall and its menu

L'Amuse Bouche has quite a few sweet and savoury crepe options to take away. But, this was our…read moredessert stop at Pop Brixton. They have the standard Nutella, lemon and sugar fillings, but we decided to go for the salted caramel option for a change. The lady manning the crepe pans was very adept and efficient. I cringed a bit as I saw the amount of butter go into our crepe compared to some of the earlier ones (hint : the butter is the root of the salty taste in their salted caramel), but it was oh so tasty in the end. I heavily recommend the salted caramel crepes, but I have to warn you that they are a little tricky to eat when on the go. We constantly had sticky caramel squirting out with each bite (it was too yum to be content with just nibbling on it) Fortunately, the washrooms are right next to this stall, so you can wash up the mess on your fingers, face and tshirt. I love it when I get a nice surprise. L' Amuse Bouche was one of those places where I had low…read moreexpectations but was really impressed afterwards. I just fancied a savoury crepe that day and so ordered the spinach, garlic, egg and cheese crepe (La Potagere. Everything about it was perfect and worth the garlic breath it left me. The crepe came out thin, eggy and bouncy. The stall holder seems to know what she was doing, being quick and skilful with the hot plate and throwing in the ingredients. The spinach was fresh so I could still crunch into it but cooked enough to be seasoned by the garlic. The addition of egg and cheese just held in that warmth and extra flavour it needed to make it the comfort food you need on a cold day. Delicious!
