I always find it helpful when reviewers update their reviews, so I'd like to update mine…read more Prior to my review earlier this year, there was no proactive outreach from Kerns to keep me updated on pieces matching my interests. I don't blame them, though--I'm sure they deal with a lot of window shoppers--but I did my best to engage with them seriously. After my review, Chris sent me an email to say that I haven't been forgotten and that my timepiece requests remain important to them, but that they do not currently have any pieces to offer me. I would be remiss if I didn't say that I wasn't disappointed, especially after waiting a few years now. Their customer service remains very professional and friendly, but it's probably on me to do a better job of managing my expectations.

I've been meaning to get my wedding band…read moreresized for eons since having a baby over 6 years ago, my ring just doesn't fit the same as it used to. I've been putting it off forever but when I also happened to get a pearl bracelet from my husband for Christmas that got damaged and warped, I knew I needed to get it fixed. Since the original jeweler who made my wedding band and engagement ring went out of business many years ago, I needed to find a new local jeweler to help with my jewelry. After many very prompt back and forth messaging via Yelp, I finally found time in my busy mom life schedule to swing by and get my jewelry looked at! Olga and Emma were so kind and patient while discussing with me what we could potentially do with the bracelet. The ring resizing discussion was easy and we were able to settle on how much bigger I'll need the band. They send their jewelry offsite for repairs and were very clear and communicative about the process and cost. Loved my interactions with the staff and think I've found our new local jeweler for all our jewelry needs!

My husband promised me an upgrade of my ring, and the first place I turned into for options was the…read moreInternet because it's easy and quick. Unfortunately, that research is hard to do when you can't see the merchandise in person, you don't know anyone personally that has shopped there, and you're not an expert in jewelry. My original engagement ring and wedding bands were purchased at Kay Jewelers. I stopped into the mall just to see if I could try on a center Stone of the size that I wanted so I could get a visual on my finger. The fancy cut had a very obvious bowtie, and the ratio of the band to the stone made it look like a cheap piece of costume jewelry. In my quest to find the best (and last upgrade) I brought me to Bonnie's YouTube channel. I watched almost every video on my daily date with my treadmill. Through her channel, I learned a great deal about all things diamonds, I saw a bunch of new styles that had not seen before, and I was 100% convinced that craftsmanship does make all of the difference when you are selecting high-end pieces of jewelry... Especially ones you wear every single day. After having video calls with a few other online retailers, I scheduled a call with Bonnie's team and with Bonnie. I was convinced that the only place that I would buy something like this online from was By Bonnie. They made my ring by hand, and the statement, "good things come to those who wait" was never truer than in this instance. The tailored customer service was also very responsive and personal. They took the shape and length of my fingers into consideration when giving recommendations on the width of the band and the ratio of the center stone. Most places would not be able to give that kind of advice, but Bonnie is a master at curation and dedication to creating the most unique and stunning pieces. When I received the piece, I was practically speechless. I have never seen another ring like mine in person. It's a showstopper! If you come from a smaller area like I do where custom jewelry stores don't really exist, you need to contact Bonnie's team. They can show you things that your local jewelers will likely not have access to. I guarantee that you will love whatever it is that they design for you!

This review for Bonnie is long overdue. She made my engagement ring in 2023 and even though I…read morerarely write reviews, she absolutely deserves the praise. Maybe the delay ended up being a good thing because after years of daily wear, I can confidently say that my ring still looks as beautiful as the day I got it. Back in 2022, my then-boyfriend and I were deep in the engagement ring rabbit hole, obsessing over diamond certificates and getting frustrated with the options other jewelers were showing us. I found Bonnie through her YouTube videos, which were quite informative, but I'll admit as a Gen Xer, I was initially skeptical of someone with such a big social media presence. Meeting her completely changed my mind. I came in convinced that I wanted a thin pavé band with a full diamond tulip basket. Bonnie was honest and blunt that it was the exact opposite of what she'd recommend for my lifestyle. She would have made it if I insisted, but she warned I'd probably be sending it in for repairs constantly. She was right and I'm so glad I listened. Instead, she helped us create a shared prong setting inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge, a place that meant a lot to our relationship. She executed it perfectly! If you see the Eloise setting on her website, my fiance and I were actually the inspiration for it. The ring is comfortable, durable, and fits perfectly flush with the eternity wedding band (with the same shared prong setting) she later made for me as well. Years later, it has held up beautifully, which really validates all the practical advice she gave me from the start. What really sets Bonnie apart is her honesty and expertise. More than once, she talked me out of choices that would have looked beautiful but worn poorly over time, including convincing me to add the thinnest possible spacer band between my engagement ring and wedding band to protect them from rubbing directly against each other. She also talked my fiance out of getting a bigger stone even though it meant less money for her. The diamond she sourced sparkles like no other. Another detail that I especially appreciated was that when the ring was finished, she coordinated only with my fiance so that the proposal was still a complete surprise. We trusted her so much that we also had her custom-make my husband's wedding band and once again she balanced practicality with bringing his vision to life perfectly. I went into this process with very fixed ideas about what I wanted and Bonnie gently but firmly steered me toward choices that were better for my lifestyle and longterm wear. She's knowledgeable, detail oriented, honest, and incredibly talented. She may seem pricey at first glance, but after going through this process with her, I genuinely think her expertise is priceless. She saved us from expensive mistakes, created rings that have held up beautifully over time, and delivered something even better than what we originally thought we wanted. Every time I look at my rings, I'm reminded of our beautiful Golden Gate Bridge love story and they bring me so much joy.
