My wife works with a woman who said, East Setauket? I go there to get my eyebrows threaded. I am Italian with one of my grandmothers Greek. So I have hair growing everywhere! I have to keep my eyebrows in check otherwise I'd look like Bert from Sesame Street. No one wants to see that so every quarter I get an eyebrow tune up. I am not a fan of eyebrow waxing. It sounds barbaric, they smear hot wax on your face, press tape on the wax and PULL! My sensitive skin can't handle that, I usually have marks for days on my face. So when I hear about a threading spot in my neighborhood, I'm going to investigate. I walk in at noon for my appointment. No one is at the front desk, after 3 minutes, I said hello? Someone comes to the front desk and checks me in. My appointment is with Lucy, she shows up about a minute later and brings me into her office. Now with threading, there's participation! Lucy tells me to hold my eye as she takes her magic thread, almost like dental floss and goes to work. The end result, I have a cleaned up face. The question is, what is your pain level? Both procedures, to keep my youthful appearance, there's some pain involved. Nature's Touch Day Spa also does sugaring, that topic is for another review. I tell this story to my brother in law, he laughs at me. The final result, I have my mani-pedi-eyebrow wax complete and I'm ready for vacation. My first time here was like no other. I have never done threading before, so i was a little nervous, my eyebrow Lady educated me on threading and the difference between waxing. Well long story short i am officially a thread girl, never going back. It was painless, and quick! Also gave me tip on how to help grow out one of my eyebrows that has much less hairs than the other! I was just treated so poorly at this establishment. Walked in and asked if I was able to be seen for eyebrow threading, was told no, come back for an appointment at 3:15. I come back, check in, sit down, and wait 15 minutes. A girl comes in after me, says she has no appointment and asks if she can be squeezed in, which they do. The threader comes out and calls in the OTHER GIRL and tells me "I'm gonna take her first, okay?" I said no, I had an appointment first. She looks at the girl and says "oh... well do you have time to wait then?" No apology to me, nothing. So, obviously I left. This is absolutely not how you conduct business. Just absolutely love this place so much! I've been all over the place looking for a quality salon to get my eyebrows done and I've always gone with the traditional waxing until my sister referred me here. Now I get them threaded and I prefer it so much more!! The salon is always perfectly maintained and absolutely the cleanest one I've ever been in. I love this place. I got my haircut from Tula, and she did an absolutely great job. My hair is thick and was badly shaped, due to a terrible last hair cut somewhere else, but Tula fixed it to a great extent. I will keep coming back to this place for as long as I am in Stony Brook. She is an amazing person as she gave me some discount after knowing that I am a student. I didn't expect such a behavior. Just make sure to have cash if you service costs less than 50$. I have brought friends and family here, recommended Ozzy to co workers they all absolutely love her. It is so easy to get an appointment, the spa is clean and relaxing. I have always loved Natures Touch and I've been going to get my eyebrows done here for (at least) 12 years. Ever since one member of staff left a few years ago, the quality isn't *as* amazing but they still do a pretty good job. The downside is the very high credit card limit ($50), which is new, and the wait times. Always at least 15 minutes. Tonight however, I waited over 45 minutes and then gave up. I had called and asked if they could see me right then and was told yes. So I got in my car and rushed over. Nobody was waiting so I thought I'd be next. While I waited six other women came in with pre-booked appointments for times after I had arrived. As I continued to wait, four of those women were brought in ahead of me and more showed up. This was ridiculous! If they were fully booked I never would have wasted my time. Clearly the person I spoke to was either incompetent or lied to me about the availability. Or just though I would care about waiting so long. (I have a toddler and it was closing in on dinner time so a long wait mattered) This isn't the first time something like this has happened to me there. If there is a wait and they are honest about it, I'll happily wait, or book for another time when I have the availability. But waiting for so long when you were told they had the space is just wrong and a terrible way to treat such a long-time customer. Considering the quality isn't even as good as it once was, I don't think I'll be returning. read more
