This mini-chain is very similar to my favored "The Grocery" up on Kingsland Road but I just so happen to be down by Spitalfields often enough that I've popped in to this market a few times for the (not-so) essentials. Let's face it, it's a bleak state of affairs down Commercial Street at Tesco Local. I can't even bring myself to go in there. The amount of plastic wrapping and pre-packaged foods just makes me want to barf, no joke. I just can't most of the time, I'd rather go anywhere else. So yes, while As Nature Intended is a bit pricier -- it's also a LOT nicer, has WAY better food things in it and if I want to pay 100 quid for a bag of (basically) snacks, so it shall be done. Sometimes one just wants to feel wholesome, right? Yes. Of particular interest here is their health and beauty section -- well stocked and comprehensive. They carry REN, which I adore and also full range of Wedela which I buy often for the little person in our house. The soups are great, and they have CO-YO (coconut milk yogurt) which is my favorite thing of 2015 thus far. Staff is friendly. You'll be broke but you'll be happy. Basically this health shop wins hands down to stores such as Julian Graves and Holland & Barret, which are in walking distance on Sevenoaks High Street. This independent store has professionals and practitioners and the like to dish out advise plus they have regular talks on health issues ( do check their website for further details etcI am actually thinking of attending, as they seem worth while. They stock far more products than the bigger names and there is more than enough staff to be your personal assistant. I heard about this store from my nan who is a big believer in alternative treatment, as are we all. I thought I was allergic to yeast, which means beer and bread and the like but turns out, I need to lay out the Dairy and other foods that don't agree with me. Being a student meant indulging in cheaper foods and a complete shift in lifestyle, and it was showing through my eyes. This is where Peter Colins the Great got his handy allergy testing machine to find the root of my problem. It is all done through a pressing motion to side of a pressure point in the finger. All electronics no need to draw blood. It detects your energy and energy of different allergy sources and sees what is and isn't compatible. It only costs £55, and he recommends different medications and alternative foods. I will be on this detox for 2 monthsi will let you all know my progress. I actually thought that was all they had in stock. It turns out that they have more supplements on the other side of the shop, a funny way to lay out your store when trying to compare varieties of the same supplement. So look around before making up your mind. They have a pretty good selection of dry non perishable foods. I found their vitamins pricey and the guy a bit pushy. I left the store.
