I went here for brazillian and full legs wax. It was my first time to do brazillian and full legs wax at the salon. I had Rosette and she was nice to me. She tried her best to make me feel relax by telling me that it'll be quick but oh boy, it was painful! I couldn't relax because it was my first time (I was anxious) and it was painful right after she yanked the upper portion of my bush. It was mostly painful because I have so many hairs down there. She didn't trim it & I didn't trim it before meeting her. She didn't ask me to check if she did well or not after my brazillian & full legs. She just told me to pay after I'm done changing. There are still some hairs left. She did wore 1 blue glove (right hand) during the brazillian wax but she didn't wash her hands before the procedure. I paid $85.00 incuding the $10.00 tip. I thanked her for the wax deal. She's a nice lady with 25 years of experience but for me her brazillian techniques are painful and the wax is too hot for my skin threshold. I endured everything, I hope my future brazillian wax will be better than this. I've been told that the first brazillian experience is worst but it'll get better after the 3rd try. read more

Before I found my current nail salon (Ananeke Salon & Spa on Yonge), I came to Natural Solutions for a biogel repair and refill on my nails and walked out within 5 minutes. Challenges began even before I made the call. I searched for a nail salon near me, found the Tonyc salon at Fairview Mall and used the number listed on their site. I called, explained what I was looking for, and made an appointment for 6PM. I also offered to arrive early as the receptionist mentioned that earlier would be better. As I walked into the mall at 5:35, they called me to ask if I was making it to my 5:30 appointment, which I corrected them was at 6PM. I went to Tonyc, where I assumed my appointment was, and they directed me downstairs to their sister salon. Once I found them, I was walked into a back room that reeked of nail processing chemicals, had no windows, poor lighting, and was cramped. I was surprised that anyone would pay money to spend time in that room. But I had a broken nail in need of repair. As I sat down, the nail tech attempted to chastise me for my tardiness. I corrected her and mentioned my broken nail and request for a biogel refill. She wanted to soak my nails, at which point I said that in over three years of having my nails done, I'd always had the colour shaved off with the electric nail drill file and that it was my preference. She protested, complained, and proceeded to use the electric nail drill file, with a harsh sanding band rather than a finer metal bit. She pressed hard and caused the hot pain that comes with that twice before I asked her to stop. I wasn't impressed with anything about this salon and wouldn't recommend that anyone visit. Take the time to find a salon that appreciates you as a customer, and knows what they're doing. read more

I've always gotten my haircuts at my regular hairdressers and due to my heavy work schedule- I decided to try a new one since I had heard alot about Natural Solutions through friends. Got in almost immediately without an appointment (which I appreciated) - however nice the lady was... I felt like she was a "talent" (newer in the field) and spent AGES cutting my hair- going over each section at least 5 times... I kept telling that I DO NOT WANT more than 1.5 inches cut off- she said she was just going to do "layers on me... I agreed since I usually get layers. An hour and a half later- I get this horrendous choppy haircut. The bangs aren't even cut properly and even my boss who saw me after the haircut said it was two different lengths. I was so unhappy and just wanted to get out of there. At that point- after her reassuring me that she understands my hesitant nature with getting my hair cut shorter but she knew what she was doing... I just didn't even want her to try and "correct" it in fear it will make it worse. Despite all that- I tipped her anyways - felt like the lady at the front was like ' what ' at my tip which I thought was pretty generous considering... This is just a lesson to me to never get a haircut here again! (By the way- it was $70+ for this crappy haircut). If anyone wants a picture - please feel free to PM me. For those who have read my previous reviews, you'll know that my first Yelp was the result of a horrible wax experience at Mocelle Edan salon in Yorkville. I made the mistake of trying to fix something that wasn't broken to begin with. My longtime aesthetician and waxing go-to goddess is Rosette at Natural Solutions in Fairview Mall. Forgive me Rosie, for I sinned a great sin by visiting that other salon and I suffered greatly for it; I shall never stray again. I've been seeing Rosie for over a decade, since I was a cash-strapped student. Because we've known each other for so long, she treats me like family and there are always heartfelt hugs, cheek kisses and catch-ups on our respective families...but her friendly, endearing demeanour is not the primary reason why I recommend you see Rosie for your waxing / hair-removal needs -- although the intimacy level is understandable, considering the vulnerable, sensitive position one is in when getting a bikini or Brazilian wax. Basically, there ain't anything that Rosie hasn't seen, so you can get over yourself: no use in being shy or self-conscious about being spread-eagled and naked as an ape (a hairy one) in front of her. The main reason I recommend Rosie for depilation of our delicate areas is for her top-notch technique. She's quick, she's thorough, she's gentle and she'll distract you during the whole procedure, which gets me through the anxiety of anticipating the next strip being pulled. Let's not delude ourselves: physical hair removal hurts and anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is LYING. You can't physically rip hair out from the root -- particularly from the nether regions -- and tell someone the experience is pain-free. So, since we know we're going to endure a little discomfort, the least we can hope for is someone who is efficient, kind, and has a firm, but gentle touch to minimize the pain factor. Rosette holds the skin taut (and sometimes asks you to place your hands to stretch the area so she can do the application) and her strip-removal technique is fast in a relieving kind of way. I can't speak for how she interacts with other customers, but I imagine it's similar to our exchanges. She treats me with warmth and dignity, she's professional yet appreciates the intimacy of the situation and she makes me feel as though *I've* accomplished something by simply getting through another waxing session in record time. Honestly, the first time I ever experienced her services, I think I told her that she should have gone into gynecology because women could use more professionals with a gentle touch for our genitals! read more

On August 19th 2013 at 5:30 pm I walked into Natural Solutions Salon at Fairview Mall with ash blonde hair and asked for my dark brown roots to be covered up. I instructed the hairdresser (Veronica)multiple times that I didn't want golden blonde, yellow blonde or white blonde, I wanted my hair ash blonde with a few brown low lights. It had taken me a year get my hair the color I wanted and I didn't want it screwed up. The hairdresser (Veronica) applied the mixture to my roots and after 20 minutes realized that my roots were turning a brassy colour (not ash blonde ). After conversing with her assistant , Veronica said that she needed to apply bleach to my roots and washed out the first application. After she had washed it, my roots were brassy gold with dark grey when I looked in the mirror. She slightly dried the top of my head and her assistant began applying bleach to my roots. The bleach was burning my head and I asked the assistant if it was normal for the bleach to hurt this much and she replied "yes, we just washed your hair its normal." As she applied the bleach she was pulling and breaking my hair as she separated it because my hair was wet and tangled. She let the bleach sit for about 20 minutes then washed it out and applied a toner. I looked at my hair again and after the toner had been applied the roots were still brassy and yellow. After pointing out to Veronica that the hair was brassy and yellow, Veronica( hairdresser) then applied a stronger toner to try to lift the brass and yellow colors and washed my hair for the 4th time. The hairdresser then dried the top of my hair and began to apply the low lights. As she is separating my hair she was breaking and ripping the hair because it is wet and tangled. As she is doing the low lights I can see where my hair underneath is still quite brassy but at this point my scalp feels like pins and needles from all the bleach and toner. My hair was then washed for the 5th time. As Veronica combed my hair she again was pulling and breaking my hair causing even more damage. She even attempted to imply that I had taken so long to do my hair and it was now closing time that maybe I didn't need my hair dried and styled to which I replied that "I want it dried!". Shortly after 9:00 pm I was finally done!!!! The following day (Aug 20th) my head was so sore I couldn't brush my hair or touch my scalp. I got my daughter to look at my scalp and the back of my head was red and burnt and the top of my head was blistered. The excessive bleaching had caused a chemical burn to my scalp. We called the hair salon and emailed pics to explain what had happened and the Manager Tammi tried to blame it on me. She said I should have known what bleach can do to my hair. She never once apologized for her employee screwing up my hair so bad. Tammi offered for me to come in and have a wash/blow dry and treatment put on my hair done by Veronica as a form of compensation. My scalp was sore to the slightest touch I didn't want anyone washing and drying it especially Veronica who was EXTEMELY ruff. My daughter spoke to Tammi and declined her offer and told her we just want out money back. Tammi said she would have to speak to the owner and to call back on Monday. She recommend that I go see a Doctor. My daughter emailed Tammi with more pictures of the wound on the second day and instructed her to call her back on Monday (Aug 26th) after she spoke to the manager. On Wednesday (Aug 28th) morning we still hadn't heard from Tammi. My daughter called the salon again at that point Tammi said the only thing they can offer is a $75 gift card (approx half of what I paid). We said that was unacceptable as we would never return to the salon after the HORRIBLE customer service we experienced. Tammi again said she would talk to the owner and call me back. Friday (Aug 30th) afternoon we still hadn't received a call back so we called again!! Tammi at that point said that the $75 is all they can offer. We then tried to call the head office to try and get this resolved. I have called at least 10 times and left 5 voice mails and have yet to received a call back from anybody!!! It has now been three weeks with no resolution. I have never experience worse customer service in my life. Please do your research before you go to a salon and make sure you go to someone whom you trust and won't send you to the Dr. Office with a chemical burn. My life is very precise to me. I do not know the long term side effects of a chemical burn to my head. I may have permanent hair loss and may have a bold spot for the rest of my life. This is ridiculous !!!! I think that being reimbursed is/was the LEAST they could do after burning my head and causing hair loss. We live in a civil society. I feel violated. I have since switched hairdressers and am going elsewhere. Angela continued doing a fine job, but it was always the same. Very busy and always a bit sloppy. For example, no one ever put colour protector around my head, so you'd always end up with dye all over your skin and ears. They would send you home with some dye remover wrapped in tin foil, to wipe it away. This sort of stuff can be overlooked if the job is excellent, but it was always just good. Finally, I decided to see if I couldn't do better elsewhere. Still looking for that perfect hairdresser though. read more

I had not been to Natural Solutions before and stopped in for an eyebrow wax. Unfortunately, my practitioner burnt my eyelids. She put the wax way too far down the lid and the lower section has blistered on both lids. It is both painful and ugly. I would not go here again. read more

I've been getting keratin treatments done for 3 years now and decided to go to Natural solutions for it. Big mistake! My hair is still very wavy and brittle!! I don't remember who was helping me, but she was AWFUL. It's not that she was rude or anything, she was actually nice, but her service was not up to par. It was my first time doing a Brazilian, and I told her as I was nervous. She boasted how she has been in the industry for 11 years and she's very gentle. She was ok, as I have a high threshold of pain. However, she finished in 15 minutes (which I thought was REALLY fast). 1) half the hairs were still there 2) she didn't even do the backside 3) I left with blood all in the front and was so sticky, i was stuck to my underwear When I paid, I told the receptionI wasn't happy that I felt like she didn't do the whole 9 years, and she replied "oh it's the same price anyway- the brazilian and the bikini". UHM,THE PRICE CHART SAYS DIFFERENTLY. I didn't want to argue, i EVEN TIPPED the person who gave me the wax, because I really didn't know what to expect! I only learned they're suppsoed to do the backside after speaking with friends. Anyway, by the time I got home, I felt like I had to peel my underwear off ripped skin. I was in pain for 2-3 days. This is an absolutely horrible Salon. So 3 weeks ago I had a haircut there. Everything is so simple. My hair's short and the work is done by a hair clipper. Later on at home my wife and I noticed a bunch of long hair that was left uncut. We fixed it ourselves. I took it easy. But 3 weeks later I was passing by and decided to leave a feedback. The secretary tried to look for my name and couldn't find the barber's name. She declared that there was no such barber working at their salon. I won't recommend anyone to have a haircut there. Its funny after reading one of the reviews on a hair stylist PINA. I was absolutely shocked. I went to her for a hair cut where she ignored everything I asked for. I specifically asked for layers, when looking at the back, my hair was cut in a straight plain line. I then asked for an updo, as it was my baby shower. She fuzzed it all up and made it look so horrible, I ended being late for my shower because I had to rush home, take it all out and do it myself. I cried the whole time, thats how ugly it was. That woman should not be touching anyones hair and if she does, she should clearly state to her clientele what she is capable of doing, not agreeing and making people look like crap. I would never recommend anyone to get a hair cut or their hair touched by this woman. She sucks pretty bad. read more

Worse place to go for a haircut. First time I went I swore I'd never go back. I was in a rush to get a haircut and went to Tonyc (natural solutions partner) and they told me to go to NS. I was very hesitant to actually go down there. I had a bad feeling when I met my hairdresser. I have been wanting ash blonde in my brown hair, forever. My hair tends to get warm yellowish tones when I highlight it, and I don't like that. I have explained to so many hairdressers that I want nice cool (NOT WARM) tones in my hair, and they have all claimed to be able to do it. Not once has it happened...until I went to Natalia at Natural Solutions in Fairview mall. Her instagram natistylzz showed looks she did, that are exactly what I was looking for. Upon consultation, she very confidently told me she can get me the ash blonde in my hair that I was seeking, I was skeptical, because by this point after so many hairdressers failed I came to the conclusion that my hair just couldn't achieve that look, but let me tell you Natalia did it!I was shocked! She worked her balayage magic on my hair, and not only did I get the ash blonde, but she blended it SO well with a cool brown colour on my roots, and the haircut that I didnt even know I wanted, is my best haircut to date that she gave me. I don't even have to do much and it just looks styled. I am SOOOO happy with my hair, and I am a very picky person. Natalia is the best. I recommend her to anyone, she's like a hair wizard; very knowledgeable, fast, efficient. She even gave me styling tips, and a quick hair tutorial on how to style nice-fast-hair (I have a toddler at home, I don't have the time to style hair for too long).
