If you have a serious foot fetish this place is definitely for you. There are some shoe stores that…read moredon't have this many shoes. And in the back of the store they have a huge leather boot selection which impressed me. When I first walked in and I was expecting more of an upscale souvenir store but it is definitely much more than that. This is a great place to find some unique clothing finds along with numerous choices of leather jackets. Needless to say, expect to pay top retail dollar for everything. I decided to take a lot of pictures because words alone are not adequate.

I hate writing negative reviews, but I know there are people out there who can't stand one more thing going wrong in 2020 and those people deserve to know they should avoid this place. I will say that the thing that makes me the most irritated is that we made a purchase here and I completely regret it and wish we hadn't rewarded their bad behavior with our money. That's on us, as we were trying not to ruin our anniversary with a scene and my husband wasn't fully grasping what occurred until we left, and we had no privacy for me to explain it to him. This layout, like a few in the area, is 2 floorplans connected in the middle but with each one having its own entrance/exit. We originally entered the one on the left which had some clothing, jewelry, and boots in the very back. This side had a mix of higher end brands that are a bit expensive and items that are just plain overpriced, as is common in more touristy areas, but nothing outrageous. The right side had some trinkets up front that I didn't check out, so I can't comment on those prices. There was a bit of a babbling brook set up with goldfish and a little wooden bridge that crossed to the back of that store. I thought that was fun. There were handbags and women's clothing in that section that were ridiculously overpriced and marked up for the quality- enough to make me roll my eyes and lose interest in the store altogether. The first time we came in, we were completely ignored. Nobody greeted us, nobody approached me as I was considering several purchases. Not unheard of or my biggest concern, though I completely noticed. We left and went to several more shops. As we were about to leave Main St. we remembered we never purchased the Pendleton towels we intended to get. I wanted to go to Fredericksburg Mercantile, but my husband wanted to return here based on the selection. Well this time, we entered the store and headed to where the towels were so we could look through the patterns and select one or two. Instead of being greeted, we were profiled. A woman attempted to step in my husband's way while condescendingly asking if he needed something. He went around her, casually throwing out the product he came to look at. I was slightly behind him so she instead blocked me with the same tone. I stared blankly at her because I was completely shocked that this woman got in my bubble, her face was 7 or 8 inches from mine- at most, and her mask was below her chin! While I was aware of the profiling that was occurring, I was primarily distracted by how boldly she was ignoring the state mandate AND rudely in my personal space (remember, I said inches, not feet, it's never appropriate to get that close to someone). Since things were getting tense, a second woman (the only one wearing a mask correctly and seemed to be the manager) interceded and the first woman left. I specifically asked her if they just don't follow the mask mandate here and she played dumb at first, then looked over her shoulder at the the employee and shrugged and said sorry insincerely. She did not correct her behavior and there was a third employee wearing her mask in exactly the same way who squeezed between us and a rack to get a snack at the register. So no masks, no social distancing, no respect for customers- got it. I walked away to go look at patterns with my husband but couldn't focus on the task because this woman followed us around from an odd distance and kept interrupting our conversation. What's funny is when I actually inquired to my husband about the product, she had a chance to look like she was doing her job and cover up the profiling, but that was the only time she didn't chime in! I didn't get a chance to choose what I wanted, my husband felt rushed and weirded out so he grabbed one so we could just get out ASAP. At the register we were subjected to her asinine questions and chatter about "this stupid virus." She also went on about recognizing me from earlier based on my purse- I guess her way of softening the profiling??? I left out a lot of specifics due to limited space. The jist is, that after letting time pass I still do NOT think this was a weird, one time mishandling of a customer. I honestly believe the staff here makes biased assumptions about their customers and will continue to do so unapologetically without regard to how they are mistreating people, or for safety. They didn't deserve our money and they don't deserve yours.
