It is attended from April to November giving you a nice feeling of security, unlike the 'park in a field' option on the right on the way into the village. Prices are reasonable, with discount tickets for weekly parking if you are renting a cottage in the village. The service was excellent, they have larger spaces for motorhomes (you pay a little more for them), and very helpful, knowledgeable staff (thanks Matthew!). A pleasant surprise in this day and age!

I have no problem or issue with having to pay as I was in a rental car not my own mobility,on asking the gate staff do you have any disabled parking at which I was no told no in a short sharp maner.I then asked sorry I mean specific parking bays and the answer came back no we don't and if we gave a space to everyone who was disabled we wouldn't have any spaces for normal people. I like many others did not choose to be disabled but to get abuse from a able bodied pensioner who doing at best a poor job in public relations, really upsets me.I for 1 will nevr use this parking area again and would warn other disabled about the attitude of some of the staff.

If you want to visit St. Catherine's Castle and combine your visit with a nice little walk, then…read morethis is the place to start. It's a small parking lot, unpaved but with lots of trees providing shade. With SatNav it's easy to find, but there are narrow roads leading here. Don't bother, you're on the right way. Parking is free for members, there's a small box for non-members to drop 2£. Of course nobody will check or know, but it'd be nice if you'd pay the 2£. Then you pass the few buildings on your left and follow one of two trails to the cliffs and castle. It's nice little walk with really lovely views. From the (quite small) castle you could go down to the Readymoney Cove and from there to the town of Fowey. A great little spot to park your car.

The parking attendant is very knowledgable of the area and he did give us ideas on which places were best to visit and how to get there. Would not go to any other car park after going to this one. It's a nice little walk here to the Wheal Coates (or further) and back. There's no charge to park you car. Place felt safe, there are always some walkers around. It's fully at the sun, but with the strong seabreeze it's not too hot. Lovely spot.

The parking lot is pretty big though and holds around 30 cars. There were only three cars on that day, so plenty of space. And it's even free! Nicely paved, safe and only steps from the castle.

This place is a disgrace really! I bought a car from a friend with 6 months MOT and it ran fine up…read moreuntil that was due, I then had the misfortune to book my MOT with powells by default as my regular garage was booked up and I needed it doing without being off the road for any length of time and they could book me in, in hindsight alarm bells should of rang out then as the few other places I tried had at least a couple of days wait. I was given a list of things that needed doing including a new clutch and head gasket which I ended up paying out in the region of £440 for in cash within the working day as i was entitled to a 'free' retest the next. This said my car was passed and on the road by the end of the second working day which at the time I was happy with because of the minimal disruption however was not happy that I never received a receipt for my cash which I ask for and they said would be sent in the post later that day! It was only when I saw my friend a fortnight later that he said the clutch was done 6 months before my purchase and there should be nothing wrong with the head gasket or exhaust (that was another thing they had 'replaced') being a mechanic himself he offered to take a look, so another couple of weeks later when he was visiting (he lives in padstow now so is only this far west once or twice a month) he found that the exhaust had not infact been replaced (along with 2 front tyres also charged for on the bill) and it was improbable that the clutch, head gasket and many of the smaller items which made up the bill had been replaced either. This is my experience with Powells, I have tried to confront them but was nearly man handled off of the premises and was sworn and shouted at over the telephone, I have spoken the CAB who have advised to take legal advice from a professional and inform trading standards (which I have done) . I am sure other women have had similar experiences
