The replacement staff graduated from pseudo universities, such as Webster and other non-significant online places to teach mostly mediocre students. Every year the student body gets worse and appears to be less prepared for college than the previous bunch. If you can stomach an urban body setting with drooling faces then by all means attend. Don't expect much for what you get because this place is about profit at the expense of student's expectations. A theory of false hopes and rah rah rah attitude is encouraged by student service leaders onto their minimum-wage student staff, who are only appreciated if they drink their Kool-aid, and continue to treat students as if they were in grade school with trophies for poor work.

Of course no one in the advising office knows why or is willing to help figure it out. That is ok though, because at least the division head knows what she is doing and got it all figured out. Then again, their curriculum does not match the field I am going into at all nor the other schools in the area to successfully transfer credits. I also cannot forget how they took my money for a 5 credit hour class, but would not let me take the class. I never received a refund for the class, but instead was repaid with a F for the class that I was not allowed to take. Among many other problems that I have had with Longview, I realized that you most likely will not find help at all from the staff. I was forced to reach out to the other MCC campuses just to help with my problems with Longview. The staff here is very unhelpful, rude, and simply lacks the knowledge of their own curriculum. One star is more than generous to say the least.

I also love their seminary school. The classes offered is perfect for people who need to work during the day time but love to earn a MA degrees. This type of class offered on Mon-Thur evening from 5:30PM-9:30PM. They have some weekend modular classes which allow you just attend 1 weekend class time, and do the homework on your own path within given reasonable time frame. They have so many practical majors (please check out their website) I wish I can take all of them, but my personal favorite is their Biblical Counseling class. It teaches you both basic theology and very practical counseling methods according 100% on God's Words without humanistic base secular psychology influence. Some examples of Biblical Counseling classes are: Crisis Counseling, Family Counseling, Addictions Counseling, Counseling Women...etcs. Professors share real cases stories (but use anonymous names for people or church involved) and students can learn from the hands-on analysis for counseling. I also enjoyed their their theology classes. Professors encourage students to ask questions (and there is no dumb questions) and discuss their thoughts according to God's Words. I have been student here and enjoyed every single class from all my professors. They are kind, patient, helpful, have a listening heart, knowledgeable, scholar, servant heart, and also serve in churches with real-hand on experience to share with students. They also have radio station in Kansas Ctiy area. Tune in FM 88.5 to listen to their Christian music and daily short preaching while driving to work or home. If you are interested in their programs, email or call their Admission office, they can send you a package so you can have more ideas of what classes are offered. Yes, they also offer credit or sit-in-non-credit-auditing class for personal enrichment. Love it, I move from Indiana to Kansas just for attending this school.

And, just like SLU, Rockhurst had the opportunity years ago to take part in the flight from the inner city and build a sprawling campus out in the burbs. Rockhurst, like SLU, did not give up on the city it was part of. You're going to find at Rockhurst a Jesuit education, which apart from a distinguishing element of service, focuses on building a whole person. We take philosophy and theology courses as part of the core not because we are trying to indoctrinate someone in religion, but to point out that life is more than marketing or biology. Rockhurst is the second-smallest Jesuit school in the country and certainly one of the more affordable. One of the drawbacks we have is that we do not have a good study-abroad program, but I came in as a junior transfer so I had already had that benefit at another school. I'm deeply grateful for my time spent at the Rock.

Additionally, you do not have to be a Catholic to come here and there are a lot of individuals who are not. I would highly recommend attending this college and have had an amazing experience here!

Most of the campus is comprised of old buildings full of rich history, such as the Epperson House (it even has rumors of hauntings!), Schoffield hall and Haag hall, which used to be small mansions before being acquired by the school. UMKC does a fine job with maintenance of the grounds. They also recently added on to the library to give more study room, as well as several new lecture halls. The student Union is my personal favorite place to go, as there are several small alcoves in which to hide and study. UMKC is noted for a few different programs; none so prominent as the business school. Recently UMKC bypassed MIT in the program for entrepreneurship. Henry Bloch, the co-founder of H&R Bloch and founder of the Bloch school of business made the largest contribution to the school in it's history ($32.1 million) and thus a new building was made. The whole department is thriving. In terms of other programs, I have loved every teacher I've had for English, Psychology, The fine arts, and the sciences (bio, chem, and physics. The physics program also contains astrophysics, and has an observatory on top of Royall Hall. On clear friday nights you can find a group of enthusiastic astronomers up there just waiting to show you all of the neat things they know and can see. Every class I've had to take for speech or Sociology was not up to the same par as all the others. Honestly, go elsewhere for those programs. I've heard great things about the conservatory and music programs, but can't give firsthand experience. If this college is on the radar for you I would highly recommend checking it out. I haven't been disappointed, and I'm certain you won't be either.

This was intimidating to me and I took it the highest level I could I met with one of the vice chancellors in her office and they didn't do anything about it.
