It was convenient to our hotel, on time and the kids loved it. We had a cheese and pepperoni pizza. Would order again.

The salad was just way too much shredded lettuce and we weren't asked what kind of dressing we wanted, the waitress just brought some vinaigrette. The waitress kept telling us she had heart issues and that's why she's slow. Then she disappeared for awhile and when she reappeared, she told us she passed out in the kitchen. We got a cheese pizza, an Italian sausage hoagie with peppers, and fettuccini alfredo. The cheese pizza had almost no sauce and tasted like the Italian seasoning they sprinkled all over it and nothing else. The Italian sausage hoagie was a joke. Little tasteless gray balls of sausage and it was so sweet it tasted like they just poured sugar all over it instead of Parmesan. My kid liked the alfredo, but I didn't like the price for how much he got. Then at the end the waitress charged us for stuff we didn't order and the check just has numbers on it so without the menu in front of you it's hard to figure out where the error occurred. We were disappointed after a few locals said this place was good. **update: checked my checking account and discovered the waitress added a $15 tip on top of the incorrect charge without authorization. Contacted bank to dispute the charges

We ate here for the first time last week (Saturday evening prior to closing by 1-2 hours)…read more Great pizza- great options for food choices from pizza, pasta subs, etc... There's a line of different pizzas and food that's already prepared and ready to serve if you don't want it made fresh in the back-FYI Try there's strawberries and cream they're delicious! The place has lots of friendly staff ( very relaxed, a little on the loud banter between the coworkers talking and cutting up with each other and even a beer was popped open and drunk behind the open register / food line area which was a bit surprising and a little off putting but not a huge deal since food was made fresh and fast and tasted good and not to mention it was close to closing time.) My only complaint for this visit was: However the gnats in the ladies room were absolutely horrible!!! Some were in the dining room as well but nothing quite like the restroom. Would we recommend this place? Yes Would we eat here again? Yes, definitely 4 stars instead of 5 due mostly because of the gnats in the restroom and a little bit because of the beer drinking "before quitting time and in front of customers ". But again not enough to keep us from not coming back again.

This place functions primarily as a daytime café, but on Fridays and Saturdays, the chef/owner crafts a rotating four-course menu that changes weekly. There is a shared bread or antipasto course for the table, then a choice of soup or salad, two entrees, and two desserts. We went the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The bread course was a delicious focaccia, light and pillowy and infused with rosemary flavor. When we told our server how much we loved it, she offered us a clamshell with two additional slices to take home. That was such a nice gesture! I had the soup (a cream-based Italian soup with sausage, kale and potatoes), while my husband had the salad with homemade balsamic dressing. Both hit the spot. The dinner options were a choice of pastas. I had the puttanesca, which was bursting with big flavors from the garlic, anchovy and olives. If I had one slight criticism, it would have been that I'd have loved a touch more red pepper -- but I'll freely admit I have a higher spice tolerance than most people. My husband had the "summer fettuccine," which was prepared with bacon, corn and sun-dried tomatoes in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. I didn't taste it because I'm not a fan of the Gorgonzola flavor, but he raved. Both desserts were superb: a strawberry cake and an apple cake that our server informed us was also vegan. We never would have known. It was not dense at all in the way some vegan desserts can be. The server and the chef/owner were both so lovely and welcoming to two non-locals who stumbled in for dinner on a rainy night. It seemed like they knew everyone else there by name, so this is definitely a warm and inviting neighborhood place. The four-course dinner is a steal at $38 per person (plus tax and tip). It's also BYOB. We will surely be back on our next trip to Athens!

Entering the restaurant, you'll want to pull out your phone out as you're led through a dark lounge room and then through a set of red curtains into a grand dining area perfectly fit for a bar in Transylvania. There are a variety of options on their drink menu and after trying a few of their cocktails/martinis I found them all to be either too sweet or not good. Luckily the bartender knew how to make a good dirty martini. The food is basic American fare. I always enjoy a good trio, which is offered for their Mac n cheese and chicken tenders; I ordered the Max n Cheese trio which was pretty good. My husband and I both found our dinners to be satisfying. Their brunch menu, however, is inspired and deliciously executed. My family and I sat on the patio on a beautiful May morning and it was a much better experience. The five of us who dined for brunch were all more than pleased with our drinks and entrees and I highly recommend 740 Social for hip brunch experience.
