As they started removing the pile, they asked for payment and presented an invoice for $300 - including truck rental, dumping fee, "man-hours" (two people showed up), etc. Fees were NOT clearly explained before junk removal began. We pushed back (paid them the quoted price of $50, so they left half our junk!) but are concerned others may not do so. Do not trust an over-the-phone estimate, get it in writing!
