Wonderful experience here!! It takes a village to raise a child, as they say, and having a…read moreprofessional in the village is awesome. We all connected well and everyone is super friendly! We're really glad we got to connect! If you are hesitant to include a therapist in your circle of people assisting you to raise your child, take a breath and get past it. You'll understand the value after the first visit!

What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

Instead of showing any understanding, he refused because I'm "functioning." As a mother, I have no choice but to function--that doesn't mean I'm okay. The entire experience made me feel unheard and belittled. If you're looking for a doctor who will truly listen and support you, this was not my experience here. I wouldn't recommend him, especially for women going through real-life challenges who need compassion and understanding. Since then, I've found another provider who truly listens and treats me with respect. The difference has been night and day, and it just confirmed that the care I received here was not okay.

I had one appointment that felt incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. He appeared and called me back 20 minutes after my appointment time, and then I waited while he printed papers. Little did I know it was my prescription history (without my consent) and then rather than focus on my issues, he spent the rest of the appointment grilling me about meds that I've been on, refills years ago, and insinuated I was doctor shopping or an addict. Yeah okay, when you didn't even listen to me, you listened to respond. During a medical emergency, I needed help and he could care less, it was about mitigating his risk. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Don't let his suit fool you, his waiting room isn't full of people for a reason.

This review is way overdue for me to write. Almost two years ago I was summarily dismissed from my…read moreprior provider of over 10 years when my Cobra insurance ran out and I needed to self-pay for services that, by the sheer nature of needing to see a neurology specialist for them, were formidable enough that this event caused me unnecessary anxiety bordering on panic. Taking my health into my own hands, I began a search for providers that would accept self-pay while using all the resources available on the internet to find reviews, publicly-available professional histories and my gut feeling. JoEllen Butler's practice astonishingly quieted all of those extra doubts and anxieties surrounding being completely blocked from access to treatments that I had been tested for and had medicines prescribed to treat for over a decade. She knew all too well that larger practices often will deny a self-pay option. Unfortunately for me, my doctors at the other practice never mentioned it. Ms. Butler is a gentile, exuberant and extremely knowledgeable professional. The office is lovely with large high-ceilinged offices and a calming waiting room. I tend to get more anxious in small cluttered offices because of a mild-ish case of claustrophobia. She and her office manager-extraordinaire Lisa are so genuine and kind. Lisa never rushes through the intake portion of every appointment and she is always on-point when it comes to submitting refills, returning calls or texts for appointments as well as reminder calls for appointments. I never have to worry that any request I have will slip through the cracks. I can't say enough about Ms. Butler. On my first visit, she thoroughly reviewed the records I brought her from my prior practice and made two small changes to my treatment that improved my quality of life almost immediately. My regimen had not been changed in six years at my prior practice. I can say at this time that I am GLAD they refused to treat me on self-pay. If not for that, I would never have moved on. The day JoEllen Butler's practice either relocates or closes down for her retirement, THAT will be a different story.

This practice is amazing!!! I have been going to this practice for treatment of post chemotherapy…read moreneuropathy for approximately two years. They have always treated me respectfully and with compassion. Specifically I would like to recognize the practice manager Kerry. She has gone above and beyond several times in my care. She made certain that I had medication refills when the doctor was unexpectedly out of the office, and even helped me get in with a specialist that is not in the practice because I was unable to get an appointment on my own. This office is always timely and I rarely have to wait (like so many other doctors offices) for my appointment.

They take the time to listen to my needs and they follow up with me to inquire as to whether or not my needs were met, and the answer is always yes! They text me reminders of my next scheduled appointments, which I really appreciate because life gets so hectic and sometimes I forget. The staff has checked in with me during business hours, after business hours and on the weekends! it makes me wonder when do they ever have personal times for themselves? If I could give them a 10 star rating, I would!!!!! Thank you to everyone on the office staff and thank you to the doctors, the counselors and psychiatrist. Keep up the great job as you all have made a positive difference in my life. It took a lot of time and patience to get me on the correct medications, but no one gave up on me! This is simply the best psychiatric office I have ever been to. Period. I have been a patient at…read morevarious psychiatrists since 2016, and even worked as a receptionist in a psychiatry/psychotherapy office so I know what goes into the behind-the-scenes. Not just is Dr. Fitzpatrick a wonderful psychiatrist but the management of the office and practice as a whole is top notch. Dr. Fitzpatrick is attentive, caring, kind, and practical. She really listens to all of the symptoms and side effects from medications that you're taking and is great at working with you and your experiences to find a solution that is workable for your life. She will remember little details about your life, even those that are unrelated to your treatment. You can tell she really cares about you as a person, and not just a customer. While she's willing to prescribe the medications you need, she also is very supportive of talk-therapy and doesn't see meds as a fix-all. But what's most incredible about this practice is the management of the office. I have been to many psychiatrists where the office staff never returns phone calls, or leaves you on hold indefinitely, or doesn't send in prescriptions on time, etc. This can be debilitating for those of us who are on medications with a short half life that can have crippling side effects if you miss a dose. At Dr. Fitzpatrick's office I always get to speak to an actual human if I call during office hours. If I leave a voicemail with the nurse I will actually get a call back in the next 24 hours responding to my concern. Scheduling and billing is never an issue, and I've never had delays with getting my prescriptions sent over or refilled. In a world where poor office staff can make a great psychiatrist's practice a nightmare, Dr. Fitzpatrick's practice is the best of the best. Please do not sleep on this gem if you're looking for a psychiatrist in the Phoenix area. (also: I was never a formal patient of Dr. Parker but on one occasion I was dealing with a bad medication side effect and Dr. Fitzpatrick was out of the office so Dr. Parker was willing to call me back and let me know what some of my options were, given a quick review of chart. I really appreciated that)

[Dr. Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, MD, is board certified in general psychiatry with a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders.] She met me in the lobby herself, took me to her office, and reviewed my medical history as illustrated in documents that were faxed weeks ago from my former provider who is located in Flagstaff. She also listened to me, took notes, and asked me questions. As a result of her in-office assessment, she realized I wasn't quite at the proper dosage of my current medication, so she increased the dose. In addition, she provided me with a new prescription in order to treat another symptom that has (re)surfaced. Dr. F stated that obtaining the correct diagnosis/label is NOT as important as getting the prescription therapy right. In collaboration with my counselor and me, she will be managing my medication from this point forward. I couldn't settle my co-payment today, so her office has allowed me an extension where I may pay over the phone at a near future date. How accommodating! So far, so good !!! The gave them 2 stars instead on 1 because the nurse practitioner I saw is very caring and compassionate. I have no problems with her. The check in staff is hot or miss. Some are really nice and some are snappy and rude. I did a full course of TMS and it didn't work at all. But I still needed med management. What made me leave is their ridiculous "missed appointment " policy . In 5 ish years I made all my appointments or rescheduled earlier than 24 hrs in advance. One time I needed to reschedule, not cancel, the day before but not at least 24 hrs. (E.g., noon the day before a 10 am appointment). Because of my blood pressure was very high and I needed to see my GP at that time. They said I would be charged $150 or I needed to submit a doctors note. I said I would absolutely not ask my doc to waste her time writing them a note for a rescheduled 20 minute med check appointment with their 25 year old NP, but I did send them proof of the appointment from the patient portal. Eventually, I got confirmation via email that they were excusing the fee after some back and forth. Then, three weeks later, I got a call from them about the (insane) missed appointment fee. I told them this is no way to treat a long time patient and I'm done with them. No other medical office has a policy this extreme and believe me they are not worth it. Billing problems are the worst. I only do business with flexible and reasonable practices.
