Nice, clean grounds and peaceful surrounds. Lots of pleasant flora and fauna. On-site restaurants offer options for a great meal. Aside from eastern dishes, they offer things like hot chocolate, iced coffee and hot chips. I've never had hot chocolate as good as this without having to add something to it myself after it comes to my table. This is a large lot with a temple complex in the center, which is surrounded by trees and ferns, with a large coy pond near the entrance. Many people will likely enjoy the antics of the fish and the birds as they interact with the pond. My only complaints are that the restaurant I visited did not serve bowls of curry (only plates) and that everything else (such as candles and insence) is way too expensive. However, if you've come to have a good feed and explore the lot free of charge, you'll have a good time. read more

For being the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere & being a reason as to why Australia was ranked #10 happiest country in the world because of the Great Barrier Reef & this temple, I had high expectations. They were mostly met. Pros: Lots of beautiful greenery, plenty of things to see & experience, guided tai chi & guided meditation was special, & vegetarian meal was good but not great, plain but still yummy. Cons: it's a lot more modern than I expected & thus not as interesting & intricate as I was hoping. Didn't feel that traditional nor all that spiritual, surprisingly enough. Probably because it was just too touristy. $20 group rate for us guided meditation, a private tour, guided tai chi, & 4-course vegetarian meal. There's a restaurant/cafe downstairs that is super yummy but expensive, & tea pots are bought individually. Unique flavors & generally sweeter than typical tea spots. read more

On our trip to sydney we wanted to visit something in wolonglong and this was the coolest option. A chinese temple in Australia right? It was a beautiful day so we where wearing shorts. Bad idea. I do understand that you are not allowed to wear it in a holy/sacred place with all do respect. But when the lady shouted 'NO' at us in 'the museum' which looked like a tourist shop we where a bit disappointed to not be able to look at everything... read more

The area was a sizable plot of land with a temple complex in the middle, encircled by trees and ferns, and with a sizable coy pond next to the entrance. The antics of the fish and the birds as they interact with the pond will undoubtedly be enjoyed by many people. read more

I had high expectations because it is the biggest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere and because the Great Barrier Reef and this temple are two of the reasons Australia was named the tenth-happiest country in the world. They were largely satisfied. read more

On our vacation to Sydney for the first time. The tour guide told us to visit Nan Tien and I still don't know what it was until I saw it for myself. It was very huge so clean. The ambiance of the surrounding surely feels so soothing. read more
