I dropped by here for dinner after reading the great reviews. I think everything that's been said…read moreon Yelp is true -- great authentic food, not the friendliest service, but overall worth it.
First the food: I got the mango/soda water/mint drink and it was nice & refreshing, a good option if you're going with spicy entrees. Next, I went for the mini veggie rolls, and these were whatever. I didn't realize they were fried and I would have preferred fresh rolls, but they were just OK (wouldn't order again). Also tried two soups - one with tamarind, tomato & shrimp, and the other Tom Yum Goong with chicken. These are legit and tasted extremely authentic. I'd come back just for big bowls of spicy sour soup on a rainy day.
Finally, I split the duck larb with another person, and this was more than enough for us both! Good quality, interesting & flavorful. It comes with sticky rice and *is served room temperature* -- I didn't know this and thought it got cold sitting out, so I asked the waitress if she could heat it up. She seemed offended and explained it is not supposed to be hot. It doesn't say this on the menu, so now you know.
The service: I made a reservation for 2 beforehand, but the waitresses seemed skeptical and took awhile to seat us. They weren't very friendly during the meal until we left a tip at the end, and then they smiled a lot. Maybe they were annoyed by my food temperature question? Anyway, it wasn't the best service ever but the food makes up for it. I'd recommend you make reservations though because it was packed on a Monday night.
