I may be way too paranoid, but I walked out. The manicurist started my mani by using an obviously dirty buffer on me. When I asked, "Is that clean?" she said, "Oh, you want a clean one?" Then she left. I'm not really sure what was going on, but the guy moved me to two different stations. While waiting for my manicurist to come back, I watched a different manicurist wash some nail tools in the sink, dry them, and put them in a drawer. No sterilization that I could see. I freaked. I realized that even if I DIDN'T catch some horrible nail fungus or infection, I would not enjoy myself. And for 50 bucks, I want to enjoy myself. This place was recommended to me by a coworker whose nails I'd admired, but my instincts told me to run. Everything seemed a bit grimy, messy and disorganized. I am admittedly a germophobe, but I'd rather do my own nails or pay more for cleanliness. On the other hand, the place seemed busy and popular, so YMMV. read more

My other friends French tip had uneven white lines. $28 each Background: I have come to this place 3 times within the last 2 months once with my friend, and then with a different friend and sister. 1st visit Really good I got a French shallac/gel top (not acrylic tips) for hand 2nd French pedicure 3rd French manicure (gel) Pro: Midrange price around 27 each pedicure and manicure. Pedicure includes hot stones and hot towel treatment. Paraffin and callous remover extra $5 ea. Pedicure last a good amount of time. Con: Only 2 people do the gel to on the natural nail, so David will work on multiple customers at the same time. 2nd time my nails bubbled and cracked within a week, in fact, every nail looked cracked at the tip within several days did not last the 2 weeks like it was supposed to. I've been a regular here for waxing for years (about 6 now). I've never gone anywhere else because Kelly always does a perfect job! I always get compliments on my eyebrows and I believe I owe that to Kelly. Never does them too thin or too arched always just right. There is little to no wait weekday mornings which is when I prefer to come. Friday's and Saturdays are a bit more busy but the wait isn't too long like today. You're always greeted as you walk in and asked what you are interested in. I hear that David is excellent at manicures. I've gotten a pedicure here and it was relaxing and pleasant. I liked my nails , they were super cute and they did it very fast . The place is really peaceful and pretty big so it was a nice comodrtable experience . It also wasnt packed and the people were very kind . Overall , i enjoyed it . The only thing i did not like was that on their website it has prices but they charged me $41 for full set nails with just one color and I mean its not expensive and I guess they are allowed to charge what they want but I would appreciate a business more if they were more accurate with what they advertise . It's hard to tell a quality place because literally every review's so different, but all the nail salons I've gone to in the past few years, this has been the most pleasant/consistent, which is why their low rating kinda confuses me but I guess everyone experiences things differently. I went to LA Nails one day b/c Nails Unlimited was super busy. I haven't heard the best things about their place and had not-so-great experiences myself but I was willing to give em another chance. The man at LA Nails was so rough and sloppy even though I was the only person in the salon, but I'm pretty chill about most things so I tolerated it up until he stabbed my thumb with the fake tips while removing my old nails. Reflexively I went "ow" but he went on. Kinda picked up on why their salon was dead on a Friday evening. ANYWAYS, just came out of Nails Unlimited, and the owner (I'll catch his name next time) was appalled and just kinda confirmed what I'd already thought. Excessive acrylic and they'd been done w/ a prohibited nail powder that "never lifts," and he said usually if someone got their nails done elsewhere he wouldn't take them off, but he made an exception for my case. He warned me it'd be painful, but the whole time he was SO gentle and considerate, it was a completely painless and comfortable process. Even when it got a little busy, he moved quickly but wasn't sloppy. He and the other man who work there are always my fave nail techs b/c they're so gentle and quick. UNSANITARY AND RUDE! This place is horrible! First off when we walked in no one asked what we came in for. Everyone was on their phones to make it worse... Finally when one the nail artists asked what we needed he just looked away and continued whatever he was doing on his phone. When we got into the waxing room the woman waxing was on the phone the whole time and had the call on speaker phone! The thing that made the whole experience horrible was the technique of waxing! The woman doesn't change the tools she uses and the waxing pot is unsanitary! SHE ACTUALLY ADMITTED USING THE SAME WAXING TOOLS ON EVERYONE FOR 30+ YEARS! I've had my ups and downs with this place but honestly, it's been the place I've been most satisfied with in Salinas so I keep coming back. I've had my nails done by pretty much all of the manicurists there and the only one I've ever been happy with is with Paul. He does a great job and takes his time on you. I wouldn't recommend Kelly because since she does waxing she is constantly getting up and you have to sit there and wait. She also speeds up and does them in a hurry. I took my daughter to nails unlimited on a quick last minute surprised daughter and me time before work.. it had been a while since the last time we spent any girl time since I had my youngest son a year Ago.. anyways I surprised her when I asked her where would she like to get her nails done and have girl talk ... she chose nails unlimited on constitution .. it's a small salon we've never really had issues in the past it's just been a while since we've been there and we're not regulars but she was excited to go there since it was the last place we ever went .. I was very unsatisfied .. the man that was helping me had done my nails before without a problem , he's a little older and takes more time but my nails had been on point . This time not only did he not put the right size nail tip, he didn't put enough glue part of a nail was still lifted so of course if you pay money you want to look good .. you're going there for a reason .. I was looking at my nails .. the vibe was so uncomfortable off the bat! I asked if he could please add more glue to my nails because the DROP he struggled to get from the glue he was using didn't seem like it would hold .. with an attitude he put yet another drop or half drop . I told him again the amount of glue he put wasn't even covering the part of the nail ...he's older so I was trying to be patient.. then he rudely said if I'd like for David to do my nails.. I didn't have time anymore because like I said I had to go to work .. I had already been there for 35 mins my daughters nails were almost done but mine were just a hot mess I told him I didn't have time to wait , my nails took 1 1/2 hours to be done .. plus 15-20 mins that I had to sit there waiting for David to fix the sloppy job his fellow coworker had done... after David said that my nails would've been easier to fix or done better if he had started fresh pretty much threw me off like even he said his job wasn't up to par.. anyway.. the whole time I could've used to actually give my daughter attention and spent time with her I spent it trying to get someone to put more glue or do my shape the right way.. I'm so annoyed at this point not only was I given a messed up service , I wasn't able to enjoy my daughters time alone relaxing like a salon is supposed to be .. "RELAXINg" Doubt I'll recommend or go to this place again.. this killed it for me.. once people star just working for money they become robots ! I had the best experience here today. It was a Friday afternoon and I expected that it would be busy. I was told that it'd be a 15 minute wait for a full set, but I was seated and seen within 5 minutes. I had the pleasure of having Paul as my nail tech today. I was blown away by his gentleness and attention to detail. I don't often get my nails done but I've become accustomed to having my nails treated roughly and without care. Paul was the exact opposite and I appreciated it very much. I like my nails very short and usually have to argue with techs before they listen to what I'm wanting. Paul didn't argue with me or try to change my mind based on his own opinions. He carefully filed and buffed my nails without hurting or burning me. I can't stress enough about how gentle he was. My nails came out short just like I wanted them, the shape was what I asked for and they're clean and even, they could even pass as my natural nails. I had a full set of acrylic nails with 3 different colors of gel polish and was only charged $35. I am an extremely happy customer today and I hope to see Paul in the future. read more

If I could rate this 0 I would. First off let me say I was beyond disappointed with my experience. I walked in and there is usually always a wait which I don't mind. I wanted a full set and I waited about 40 min. There was more than a couple workers more than 6 employees. Two were doing pedicures the rest were doing nails. When I walked in there was one other person waiting to get their eyebrows waxed. Keep in mind I waited about 40 minutes for someone to actually do my nails. There was about 4 other customers who were "in front" of me who got there nails done first which is fine because they went from getting their pedicures to nails. They start working on them and about 5 other customers walk in and immediately get seated before I do. At this point I was observing the owner and his staff. They were so unorganized and didn't even care about the order of who came in first and who just walked in. This is highly unprofessional. I started to notice a pattern. The staff only took care of clients who were already regulars & knew the staff quicker and treated them nicer. I was impatient at this point because that is totally not fair as a business you shouldn't care if you know the person or not it should be about the customer. I finally got seated, Kelly who was nice yet her license was expired, not sure how she can still work and how customers are okay with putting their personal care in someone who's license has been expired since 5/31/2021, started applying my tips then told me to sit at another desk. She wasn't going to do my nails she just wanted to ensure I didn't leave since I was already super upset. I waited 20 more minutes until the owner was done hip hoping around client to client trying to do as much as he could to "advance". He started shaping my nails then he started applying acrylic. To begin, if you do not know what an apex is when doing nails please look it up, usually a nail needs a apex in order to be a strong nail otherwise it'll break. My nails with the acrylic were flatter than a dime. They were almost as thin as the tip by itself. With the work I do I know my nails would break in seconds. I asked him if he could build the apex more for all my nails, if he could make them slightly thicker. He immediately got fired up and said " i don't do thick nails" I told him it's not necessarily "thick" nails it's having an apex, I expressed how flat the nails are and he said " you should've asked in the beginning if you wanted thick nails" APEX DOESNT MEAN THICK NAILS ITS THE POINT IN YOUR NAIL THAT MAKES THE ENTIRE ACRYLIC NAIL STABLE. I then made a comment out of frustration " waist of my money then" he then replied with " that's rude of you to say" I then responded " it's rude to have your customers unorganized" hoping he got the hint of what I observed. YALL THIS IS THE OWNER. He then said " I've been here for 18 years all my customers know this how I do nails I do nails like this" As an owner I don't give a rats ass about the customers you're talking about but YOUR customers includes me because I was sitting in the chair, for him to make that comment told me everything I needed to know and confirmed the fact that he doesn't give a F***k about new potential clients. All he cares is about those who kiss their ass and the money. for the product he used was not worth 45 dollars, maybe for his "labor" even then with him jumping back a forth client to client wasn't worth a penny. Organize your staff and take care of ALL customers. I don't care how long you've been there, as an owner you want to make people come back and make people aware of the services you do and how they work and how you work, it doesn't mean treat people who are new and don't know about the work you do because you didn't disclose it like shit. AS AN OWNER DO BETTER !!! Never going back again. ITS NOT OKAY TO TREAT PEOPLE HOW HE DID JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW ME AND IM NOT A REGULAR. My nails are shit. Cut them off right after. First off, I stopped getting my eyebrows done as the last time the lady was talking on the phone the whole time. Poor customer service. I really wanted to give them 5 stars because walking out of there my nails looked amazing and i was in love with them. However im giving them a 2 because they did not last at all. I got them done a thursday afternoon. By friday night i noticed a crack on 2 of the nails on my left hand, and by saturday morning 2 of them had cracked right in the middle where those cracks were. I am a regular here (at least I was until this) and today was probably the worst experience I've had. They usually greet you right away and ask what you would like which is nice. It wasn't too busy when I was there but they usually have people wait for about 20 minutes, maybe more when it's dead slow. Kelly did my manicure today. She seemed irritated, just the vibe I got while she was cutting my cuticles. She was a little rough and was doing it really fast that she managed to cut my finger. If she would have taken her time she wouldn't have cut my finger or maybe she's just psycho and enjoys it? Since she just laughed and just covered the blood up with a cotton ball. It bleed for a long time and after that she didn't even bother cleaning it. She continued doing my nails and I got a gel French manicure.. So you can see the blood under the clear paint. I am a waitress people see my hands all the time and my finger looks disgusting. I also don't like how they randomly make you switch stations constantly. You should just focus on the guest you have until you're done with them. I also got a French pedicure from a different person, I didn't get her name. She didn't make my visit any better. She didn't take completely take off the polish I had before and she also left white paint on my skin. Very disappointed, I need to find a new place. I rarely post reviews, I'm posting this one because the service I received was extremely poor. I was in town visiting and decided to get a pedi/mani on Sunday. My pedi started at 3:40 and by the time my mani was up I received service from the only gentleman there. I had a gel manicure which was the equivalent of a gel color change only , no acrylic, no design, nothing major. I had pointed out two things (1 nail to be filed to match the other ones and my thumb to be redone because it looked weird) he was in a hurry .. I left with my nails looking bulky and thick. After about 30 minutes a few of my nails bubbled grossly, the looked deformed by this time the place had closed. I called and was informed I needed to go in.. I'm not going to travel back there, I'll take it as a lesson learned but I will share for all of you to read and hopefully learn by my experience! read more
