New review: It's me again! I have to thank the team because they reached out and gave me a free dip powder appointment after this issue. This second service was outstanding and I loved it! A different technician did them. ---------------- I have been a frequent customer for almost 8 months and I had a terrible experience for the first time today. First, the technician wasn't polite at all like they usually are. Second, I messed up one nail after she applied the top coat for my dipping powder, since it was my fault I kindly asked her if she could fix it but she did it in a lazy effortless way. Since it looked so bad and I was ready to leave I told the guy at the counter if I could come back another day to get it fixed. He said she could fix it right away again, and again, she did it in a terrible way applying just one thin layer of the top coat even though she knew it needed two layers to look flat and shiny. The final result? A cracked--looking nail. Honestly, I was tired of her attitude and wanted to leave. Oh, not to mention that I kindly asked her to clean my cuticles too at the beginning and she didn't do it at all. Disappointed. read more

So, I'm giving them a 3-star rating because the place is very clean, doesn't smell like a nail salon, and the better part of their services are done very well. It's the final touches of painting nails that they just can't do. This is the third time (no, not in a row) where I truly enjoyed the massage and shaping of nails, but then when I get home and see how my polish has dried, I just get so disappointed. This last time, I've just removed the polish myself and will repaint my nails this evening. But to have paid $58 for a mani/pedi only to have my nails look like this...just not worth it. And I had to repaint my big toes because there was too much clear coat that then stuck to the inner part of my nail/skin and I was then left with an "edge" of paint. If you want a good pedi massage, I would recommend them, but don't go for a clean polish. read more

Finally found a nail home after 2 years of moving around! This shop is super clean, beautiful, modern, and fabulous. Ethan is my foreverrrrrrrrrr person! I went once to try him out and almost idk how many months later I'm stuck here. Management is so sweet! They take care of you. Everyone here is absolutely amazing. Ethan ALWAYS executessss. 1)I've had 4 mani/pedi's here and generally love this studio. It is one of the best salon's of been too, but of course they are not perfect. Today my manicurist was particularly impatient - as you can see from attached pics, LOL, but I understand we all have days like this. Two points I'd like to make and bring to the manager's attention: 1) It is toxic to ask clients to put their nails/hands into a bowl of acetone. I've applied aquafor to my hands and my hands/fingers are still peeling and hella itchy. I understand it takes a few more minutes to use foil or whatever it may be so that the acetone only makes contact with the nails, but I think it is well worth it when you look up the damage acetone can do to your skin. Aside from entering the bloodstream, this can also cause dermatitis, irritation and of course dryness. 2) Just a general suggestion: Clients come to get their nails done as a way to pamper themselves, relax and practice self-care. With the exception of the TV that just had an advertisement on it, all other TV's were playing the news, which included two more black bodies being shot this morning (#blacklivesmatter). While I care about these issues, I am not trying to have my body feel pumped up with cortisol when I am deliberately taking time out of my day to relax. I am sure other bodies of color can relate. One of the best salons I ever went to (not in Texas) would play youtube loops of content like "live golden retriever puppy cam" or "birds of the rainforest." It is a VIBE. Just a suggestion, but I am willing to bet your clients would welcome and love this change in environment. Aside from the manicure I had today, which was a normal manicure because I need my nails to get healthy again before a long trip in my near future - I've gotten acrylic/refill and dip done here before and it was the best I've had in years. They lasted 3+ weeks with no issues. read more

The owner TT is very rude, & has no regards for customer care/service. she only wants your money! I was promised a refund by the nail tech for a defective design. In an effort to rectify the situation I tried to get it fixed with them but that didn't work bc the nail tech wasn't available till 11 days after the service was rendered. 11 days is not reasonable. my design was chipping away in less than 24 hrs... within 48 hrs my nails were breaking off & cracking. After about 2 weeks of no refund I decided to call & check on it. I spoke with TT about this situation & it become a whole different story. She refused to give me a refund saying that I needed to come in with my card sooner. I explained to her I no longer have that card, then she started coming up with lies, & predatory policies that were not explained prior to the service. I had to pay another nail shop to redo a new set with a new design. I'm disgusted with the lack of honest business practice. Update 9/11/23 in response to Thi N: I did not call anyone. I spoke with the nail tech, Amber via text. She relayed messages from the manager to me but there was never a clear conversation between a manager and I. I did show up to get the defective nails corrected however the nail tech was running 30 minutes behind and I was not able to stay and wait. As you say, all communication is recorded and logged so go ahead and check your records. Please stop calling this a "touch up." No, it was a poor or defective job being corrected. Businesses that do honest work show integrity and stand by their work. I'm appalled at the level of shady tactics displayed by this business to avoid taking accountability. For anyone reading this; this is how they will treat you when it is their fault. Please think twice about spending your money with this business. Very dishonest and shady behavior. read more

I stumbled upon this place just looking to get a nail repaired but ended up getting a fill and pedicure. I normally do gel on both my hands and toes so it was a bit much on the price for a fill with no designs. Bibi was very knowledgeable and really made my nails look good. She was super kind as well. The lady who did my pedicure (I didn't get her name) I wish I did because she did a good job as well. Literally called when they opened and asked if I could walk in for a pedicure and dip nails when they opened. They were accommodating and booked me an appointment for an hour later. Q did my dip nails and April did my pedicure. Both were really great. They have different options for pedicures, I remember I got an orange pedicure and it came with a mimosa, orange slices and massage. Today I only got a basic pedicure and I don't think they are doing complimentary mimosas anymore. The inside is very clean, they have a lady that cleans after someone gets up. They sanitize the chairs and everything which is really nice. Parking is the only con. The front of the building has limited parking but they do have parking on the side and at Krispy Kreme or target. Overall I would recommend this nail place. read more

I got a pedicure here with my fiancé a few months back and we had a great experience, but I went back for the second time just today to get a full set done as a wedding trial run and Vy did an absolutely beautiful job with my nails. I feel rejuvenated and pampered. I'm so glad I decided to stop in for a relaxing session. Nancy did an amazing job on my pedicure, and Bella a wonderful job on my manicure. The ladies took their time with me, and the price was actually affordable. So I went back to NLS after walking out over a year ago after waiting 20 mins past my appt & being told it would take another 20 mins before they could take me. I've visited several salons & none of them could match the pedi that I've received here. I was in need of a last min pedi & I was in the area, so I decided to give them another try. If this review was just for Nic, it would be 5 stars. The salon is beautiful and clean. And I love a salon with the option to book online! My one star deduction is for a couple of small things. These things won't deter me, and this is still probably one of the best places in Houston. But- the regular polish selection is really small, and generally speaking across the different types of polish, there just aren't enough OPI options or consistent options. I'm a dip girl on my nails and have been converted to a gel girl on my toes (bc I'm too impatient to wait for polish to dry). There are brands that carry the same color in both, but it's always a mix and match game trying to find colors that are similar enough bc they don't carry consistency in these lines. My other issue is that the pedicures tend to drag. I've had a couple of great ones, but overall those are just okay. The real reason I go is Nic. He is a dip genius. Most of my colors have been custom. I am rarely an easy client for him, although last night we did matte black (photo attached) so I was less complicated. He knocked it out of the park. I have him a note on shape. He followed it to the T. They look stunning, as always. read more

Updating my review. Y'all care! Been coming here for over 2 years. I think it goes without saying that NLS is one of the best if not THE best nail salons in the city. You can trust literally anyone to do your nails because TT (owner) has such high standards for who she hires! Tracie did my nails today and I'm in love! She effortlessly got my pointed almond right! Hy did an awesome job on my pedicure as well. Everyone is good but she is my favorite because I can sit through her pedis no problem (I'm extremely ticklish and be ready to literally die when my feet are touched, but can't walk around with icky feet so I suck it up)! Anywho sanitation was never an issue to begin with, but they have made several adjustments to operations to ensure it during the pandemic. The staff are all super friendly and professional. I also think they're very reasonably priced if you're looking to do nail art or more intricate designs. Yep! Dan and Vivian were awesome. I called ahead and they were able to see me right away. Vivian did my pedi and Dan took care of the shellac refill. Very good customer service and a absolute ton of colors in very medium....shellac, powder, etc. They seem to have some real talented nail artist here but I kept it simple. I really like this spot. LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I won't go anywhere else to get my toes done! They last forever and I get major compliments on my feet ! They are a bit pricey but it is worth it! They never fail me! I've had so many horrible experiences at other nail salons and I've never run into any problems here. Seems like everyone is capable of doing anything you ask them to do and if not.. they will get somebody that can- which I appreciate because I hate being an experiment for nail technicians. Also, during COVID they have taken all of the necessary precautions just as they did before PLUS some! They even close down some days to do extra detail cleaning. In addition they always use new or sterilized utensils for each pedicure. The foot scrubber they use during pedis are also replaceable so it's always fresh and new. Their nail bar is super cute and the entire salon is very elegant. I also love that they do appointments and if you do walk in and there isn't something available in that moment.. they give you a realistic time to return so that the salon isn't unnecessarily overpopulated. Very disappointed as the first time I came here I didn't experience any issues with my nails. The nail tech began slowly and seemed to take her time to be attentive to detail and my needs. Then she started to rush through the nail art as she was getting impatient with the fact that it takes time to execute a good French mani.
