    Russian pierogi

Na Winklu serves delicious pierogi in a homey atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. With all of the earth tones, exposed walls, and modern décor and furniture, Na Winklu feels like a restaurant you could have been visiting your whole life. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was welcomed by the nicest staff! They were happy to greet me and seat me, as well as provide recommendations and answer any questions I had. I started with a beet root carpaccio . From the first bite, the flavors exploded in my mouth. They used the perfect amount of spices to create a delicious dish. While the beet root carpaccio was delicious, I was excited to try out Na Winklu's famous pierogis. Na Winklu is known for their pierogis so I had to try many different ones. I tried the Russian pierogi and the mix of baked pierogi. They were perfect in every way. Each pastry was soft and warm and filled with just enough stuffing to make it full, but not have it spilling out of the sides. I highly enjoyed my entire visit and will be sure to visit again!

So far this little restaurant is one of my favorite in Poznan. It is situated in a sweet little cluster of shops and restaurants, near the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and Paul and a major tram stop. Both times I've come here, I have been immediately greeted with warmth and kindness. The decor is stylish without being overly fussy, and there are fresh flowers in vases throughout the space. You place your order at the counter (English menus are available), and then it is delivered to you. The food is simple, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Many seem to order pierogi or the baked dumplings, which are little savory pastry pockets, offered with a variety of fillings such as spinach and feta or sundried tomato and chicken. Served in quantities of 3 or 5, 3 baked dumplings will more than fill you up. The salads are also meal-sized and tasty, with just the right amount of dressing lacing the crisp veggies and protein of your choice (fish or chicken). Meant in the best sense, this place could easily be transplanted into the Cobble Hill or Park Slope neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The vibe is casual and cozy, and at dinner time seems to be destination for both couples and small groups.
