After long satisfying the chocolate cravings of Melbournians inside other cafes with their take-home products, Mork has gone out on their own with their first cafe and kitchen. It's been worth the wait, this is a chocolate lovers dream. No coffee in sight, this cafe is dedicated to all things cacao and has a lot of fun doing it. There is a standard hot chocolate offering (well, by standard I mean for Mork which is still pretty special!) with a choice of how dark you want your brew - from 50% - 100% cacao. The real magic is in their speciality drinks though, adding a bit of theatre to the experience. Items like the deconstructed chocolate bar, a refreshing chocolate soda and my order, the Campfire Chocolate. A small wooden tray appears with four items - a pot of hot chocolate, sprinkles of smoked salt, a toasted marshmallow and a glass filled with smoke. You overturn the glass of smoke and pour in the hot chocolate, mixing it all through with the marshmallow and topping it off with the salt. So delicious and a perfect combination of flavours, textures and smells. Just as fun as it is tasty. They really consider everything here from the taste to experience - even offering a vanilla bean soda palette cleanser to start. You're just not going to get this with your morning latte and the prices are not unreasonable for the quality of the product. We also tried a couple of their pralines - bite sized awesome. My favourite was the hazelnut popping praline with hints of popping candy at the finish. The Yuzu praline was a really unique flavour. I highly recommend sampling one or two while you're here. Planning a coffee date and find out that your +1 doesn't do coffee? Take them here. Mork is sure to impress the pants off any chocolate lover. Figuratively of course...but you never know, could push the odds in your favour...

When I heard "campfire hot chocolate," the s'more loving American in me was ready for a trip to Mork. The chocolate cafe features gourmet chocolate beverages and little chocolate treats. (Take note caffeine lovers - this might be Melbourne, but you won't find a single coffee bean in this establishment.) The signature house drinks are made with a 70% cacao chocolate. For those with adventurous palettes, there is also a 100% cacao drink available. The campfire hot chocolate inspired memories of Dominque Ansel's famed s'more creation with the toasted marshmallow and smokey flavour. Mork's version added some delightful DIY drama to my dessert. I was presented with a smoke filled glass, a chocolate beverage, a sprinkling of black salt, and a toasted marshmallow for stirring it all together. The presentation was charming, but that did mean my hot chocolate came out cooler than I would have preferred as it used a glass cup instead of a mug to allow for maximum smoke visibility. My chocolate loving companion tried the chocolate bar with stir-in caramel and was also delighted with the experience. The space is lovely, but seating is quite limited as there is only one large and one small table in the whole cafe. That being said, the staff was able to squeeze us onto the end of the large table almost immediately. The soda machine was broken when we visited, so there were no chocolate sodas or infused palette cleansers that day. I loved that the signature drinks here felt more special than grabbing a standard coffee at a cafe. The price reflects that as well - the house hot chocolates are $5 and our signature drinks were $8 each. While fair, it does make me consider the other decadent dessert options around Melbourne for that price point. This could be a cute spot for a new date because: chocolate and charm.

A little theatre while you wait for your table.

Mörk Chocolate Brew House is so beautiful. The interior is nordic, without being a cookie cutter copy of every other new spot in town. There's clever wooden wall storage, a stunning display/prep bench and a nod to midcentury design with gold trimmings and curved shelving. We waited 10 minutes for a table, and this gave me time to appreciate the interior and watch the team work to create hot and cold chocolate drinks. I loved it even before I got to eat and drink anything! We couldn't decide on what to try so the staff selected three drinks and we made a valiant effort in trying to finish them all. The bonfire hot chocolate is a spectacle but it's not all smoke and mirrors, it truly does enhance the experience as you smell the smoke and sip your hot chocolate! The layered chocolate milk, with an orange infused custard on top, was fun but my favourite drink was the single origin chocolate soda purely for the fact that it was an interesting texture and the "lightest" of all. I could really taste the quality of the chocolate and identify flavours that were unique to that cacao bean (#nerdalert) Mörk do such a great job at presenting chocolate in it's best form, without the need for loads of sugar. It's a small store, so try and come in off-peak times or be prepared to wait a little while for a spot to sit. Don't worry, it will be worth the wait.

It was a bold move to open a cafe in coffee obsessed Melbourne and not serve coffee! Mörk serves deliciously fancy hot chocolate. I've been a fan of their home hot chocolate powder for a while so I was interested to see how they would translate it into a cafe experience. The small and cosy cafe looks amazing! Polished wood, brass and lots of natural light flood into the converted garage. There has been a lot of attention to detail in making sure Mörk matches it's premium image. I'll get to the hot chocolate in a moment but first - CROISSANT MUFFINS! Yes they have them and yes they are as delicious as they sound. Get in early in the morning though before they are all snapped up. As a lover of "all the food" I made sure to take some friends with me and then insisted we all order different fancy hot chocolates off the menu to try them all. The "Chocolate bar" was a nice dark mixture with a small slab of chocolate to munch on between sips. The "campfire hot chocolate" is by far our favourite though. When it's carefully delivered to your table, the lovely staff explain the process of eating it - listen up and take note! First you turn over the glass filled with wood smoke and smell it, then pour in the hot chocolate, a pinch of sea salt and mix it slowly together with an artisan marshmallow. Only then is your drink ready to be gulped down. I loved that this wasn't too sweet and you could really imagine having the salt, wood fire smells and toasted marshmallow while camping. Fear not coffee fans - if you need a caffeine fix there are plenty of excellent choices up the road on Errol Street. If the cafe experience was amazing then check out their cute range of merchandise. There are branded cups, bags of artisan marshmallows and of course the chocolate powder to use at home.

The latest addition to relaxing but lively North Melbourne neighbourhood comes in the form of what might appear to be a cafe but takes the bold step of not offering coffee. Mörk Chocolate Brew House is exactly as the name describes, a brew house for chocolate. Just chocolate. Found in many cafes around Melbourne and beyond, Mörk has become synonymous with good hot chocolate and it seems only right that they have their own establishment. Hiding behind a historic red brick facade, the interior of the brew house is a complete contrast with a clean and refined space filled with a mix of white walls, light brown timber and gold coloured metal fittings throughout. The front doors open onto the counter and bar area with a communal table and just a handful of small tables to one side. In busy times, a waiting period is almost to be expected. The menu is simple and divided into a few different categories of chocolate beverages. There is the house hot chocolate available in four varying percentages of cacao, water based chocolate which includes the intriguing chocolate soda and signature chocolate drinks which combine chocolate with other ingredients such as custard, caramel and even smoke - found in the popular Campfire Chocolate. A small selection of cakes, slices and chocolate foam drinks for the little ones are also available. On this visit I opted for the original dark hot chocolate which is 70% cacao. The hot chocolates are prepared in milk pitchers and with what appears to be a steam wand, coloured gold of course, coming out of the bar. This somehow results in a magical, evenly foamed drink that has just the right amount of thickness. Like coffee, cacao beans also have their own unique flavours and these are brought out in these quality hot chocolates. Mörk has taken a bold move with the concept of chocolate-only venue, but their established brand and dedication to quality chocolate has resulted in a wonderful new addition to the ever growing North Melbourne area.

Stop 2 on my hot chocolate quest! We went to the neighbourhood specifically for Mörk, but it actually made me discover a new area of Melbourne with a lot more to offer, so thanks Mörk! The place itself is really nice: a quite small and cosy cafe, with a super nice staff that takes the time to explain the (numerous) options to you if it's your first time there! Although I like crazy hot chocolates, I'm really after the most flavourful hot chocolate in this quest, rather than the prettiest (maybe as a second project!). So I ordered one of the "classic" house hot chocolate, the original dark with 70% cocoa with almond milk. I was not disappointed! This drink packed in so many flavours, I felt like I was eating a piece of chocolate and not drinking it. On the plus side, it wasn't too rich so I could really enjoy a range of flavours. I'll obviously have to come back as there are about 10 other items I wanted to order from the menu :)

After seeing all these awesome Instagram videos of Mork chocolate brew house I am dying to go and try it for myself. I sat down and they immediately gave me a glass of sparkling water with vanilla essence which tasted absolutely amazing. I have been eyeing on the Campfire chocolate but when I got there, I got lures by the chocolate soda with yuzu flavour (limited time only). As a huge yuzu fan how could I not try this? The waiter presented this tall glass of sparkling water and a small bottle which is filled with hot chocolate infused with fresh yuzu essence. He shook it and pour into the sparkling water with a flourish. Recommending that I taste the foam on top first it was a delicious and refreshing citrus flavour. The yuzu was a bit more subtle when you drink the chocolate but it was nonetheless delicious and the flavours were beautifully balanced. My friend had their layered chocolate which was chocolate with a layer of orange custard. The custard was warm and the chocolate was cold which makes an interesting drink. The orange flavour really lifts this drink. I am so impressed by Mörk Chocolate Brewhouse I can't wait to visit again! The only thing is they don't have much in terms of food, but it's nice to find a place which specializes in what they do best and not have other things to distract from their speciality.

Only improvement needed ... slightly bigger venue and closer to home. I've tried your products at other Cafes and so glad that we finally stop by for dessert after Yumcha at nearby Gold Leaf, Docklands. Even in the HOT weather, it did not stop us enjoying it. Thank you for bringing another facet into Melbourne's Chocolate scene after the demised of the leading Chocolatier in Australia. Will try to go through the menu at our next visits. Must commend minimalist interior in complement of those rich Chocolates of yous and your knowledgeable staff, she is good!

I've been a big supporter of Mork. They are passionate and lovely people that are very deserving. No coffee, no tea, only chocolate. Great looking space with such attention to detail. My first visit was their 2nd day. Started with vanilla bean infused sparkling water as a palate cleanser, such a good choice. I had the campfire hot chocolate. It consisted of smoke, hot chocolate, salt, and a house made marshmallow. Brought back a memory i didnt even know i had, of sitting around campfire in my backyard when i was a kid. I really love the sensory play that adds up to something special. Also had the chocolate soda which was really bizarre texture but still really good. On my second visit i enjoyed the chocolate bar. Its hot chocolate, thick caramel, and a solid piece of chocolate. Also amazing. I just hope they sell jars of the caramel. Im looking forward to exploring their menu and seeing what new treats they develop.

Hands down my favorite chocolate place in town! Lives up to their "chocolate brew house" title. 4.5 points for the food and general quality, another 0.5 for the clean design and innovation. Very well-done chocolate desserts, smoothies, milkshakes and drinks. Customizable hot chocolate (choose your cocoa level, eg 50%, 75%), etc. On top of the traditional chocolate drinks and desserts, MORK serves some very creative drinks such as a water based "chocolate soda." Come check this place out. A little out of the city but worth the trek!

In an out the way location, this is a good find. I thank yelp for finding unique places like this one. The staff are welcoming and happy to find you a spot even when busy. It's not a big place though, so not really good for groups. I had the 70% dark hot chocolate, which was rich and a little bitter. Not much sugar. It's an aquired taste but I liked it. The smoked hot chocolate looked interesting. They give you a glass filled with smoke that you pour the hot chocolate into. I liked this place but wish there was a little more variety.
