Since there are two Yelp pages for this business, I'm just going to share my review to both pages. I've been eating at Myra's my ENTIRE life, mainly for their famous banana splits which were always my favorite growing up. I also have always enjoyed the old timey charm of the restaurant, and the food wasn't too bad either- until the restaurant slowly started declining in the 2010's. The food is more costly and more bland, and the staff is downright RUDE now. I miss the southern hospitality! But there is one thing I recently ordered which I really enjoyed, and that was the hand cut potato chips. So that being said, go here for snacks or dessert, not so much for dinner. I really hope to see Myra's do better in the future, because I'd hate to see them close down!

I come to Myra's very often..it is over all good food good services but today..the service was very slow. And whenever we went around the front to sit there was dead..nats smushed all over the table!

Another restaurant that after reading the reviews you have to wonder whether all these posters were at the same spot! This is a total retro '50s drive-in, n fact that what it started out as - a Frosty Freeze, that opened in the late 1950's. It changed names several times since then, and has doubled in size in the process. The food is mainly burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, and soft serve ice cream - though they do have some plate choices, including one featuring Liver Pudding. The ice cream here was excellent, and there was a good amount of it for the price. The hot dog, on the other hand, was not one I'd order again, weak chili & strong onions are not a good pairing! All in all, this a cool place to visit in a quaint little mountain town. We'll stop in the next time we're traveling down I-40. They have a Cruise-In with vintage '50 & '60s cars on most Friday nights!

Love coming to this place. Delicious food always. And love their slushies with ice cream in it.

Cute little restaurant in Valdese. Stopped in for ice cream today and it was a nice respite. I got chocolate soft serve, which was delicious. My kids got shakes, which they said were ok. Just Breyer's ice cream, like you'd get in the grocery store. Very popular place, though.

Love love love this place. My boyfriend and I have been going here just about every Friday night. It's not just for the car show, which by the way are fun. Not just for the DJ music that plays too. But the food it pretty good and the people are the best. I give a ton a credit to the kids that hold up the front line. They get a huge crowd when it's the Friday Night Cruse-In. I know it can't easy for them and they do a fabless job.

Our first time here and it won't be our last! The burgers are crafted with fresh beef ground in house. This little 50s Cafe is owned and run by 3 generations currently. Locally owned and operated. How can you not try it at least once?!? (You'll be back though :-)

I love this place. They make the best milkshakes and banana splits. It's a great place to stop when walking through town. :)

Food was decent but wayyyyy overpriced. (And greasy). Not worth the trip, I would prefer McDonald's and I hate McDonald's.

The combination of attentive service, high-quality steaks, and a standout bourbon selection makes it a spot worth seeking out in Valdese.[1][2][3] ## Service and Hospitality Austin provided friendly, knowledgeable service, with spot-on recommendations and consistent follow-up throughout the meal, which really elevated the evening. The staff quickly seated the party of four and acknowledged the celebration for the wife's birthday, helping the night feel special from the start. When one filet needed a bit more sear, the owner personally stepped in, oversaw the re-fire, and had it returned to the table cooked perfectly. That level of ownership and responsiveness showed real commitment to **hospitality**. ## Food and Preparation Entrées arrived beautifully plated and cooked to appropriate temperatures, which is especially important at a butcher-driven concept known for its meats. The corrected filet came back with the ideal sear and doneness, reinforcing confidence in the kitchen's skill.[2][1] Portioning and presentation aligned with expectations for a farm-to-table steakhouse, highlighting the quality of their locally sourced meats.[3][1] ## Bourbon Library The bourbon library is a major highlight, offering an impressive selection of hard-to-find bottles that adds a distinctive draw for whiskey lovers. It pairs perfectly with their meat-focused menu and makes Highlands Butchery feel like a destination, not just a neighborhood spot.[4][1][2] Having such depth behind the bar also supports Austin's recommendations, allowing guests to explore pours they may not encounter elsewhere. ## Atmosphere and Noise The only real drawback of the evening was the room volume, which made conversation a bit challenging at times. Given how popular and lively the space can be, some additional noise baffles or acoustic treatments could help deaden the sound and make the dining room more comfortable without losing the energetic vibe. With that one improvement, this experience would easily move from a 4.5 to a full 5 out of 5, especially given the strength of the service, food, and bourbon program!
