Cool looking place with 50s car theme. Overpriced for the portions and I swear, and the whole reason i left review, the worst fries of ANYWHERE anywhere in NC, if there was a trophy for it, they'd have it hands down. Like cut potatos was cooked, left out in the rain for 3 days then finished with a secondary oven crisp, horrible. Hamburger steak is awesome, but tiny and almost 9 bucks, you get the point. I first moved to this area in the late 90s. I tried Myra's and I had to say that the food consisted of large portions of tasty food for a decent price. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. It seems that their burgers have gotten much smaller and their prices seem to have gotten much higher. Plus the staff seems to be nothing but a bunch of teenagers that don't have any type of work ethic. So you ordered this overpriced food and get a small cold Burger and undercooked fries. This is a shame because I used to eat there quite often but now I have not eaten there in years because it just declined so much. I had thought about stopping there on the way home from work just a couple of days ago but luckily someone I work with picked up food there during their lunch break and upon seeing it I knew not to stop for my dinner. It's bad when a place that used to make quality food now makes burgers that are nowhere near as good as even the McDonald's down the street read more

Good food, usually has friendly biker type gentlemen eating ice cream in the outdoor area. There used to be a Walrus that would sit outside and harass pedestrian's as well as motorists from the outdoor eating area. I believe he has moved on, but if you do see him, just know that if you make eye contact he could potentially ruin your experience by saying something obnoxious. Good news is he doesn't ever actually go inside and eat. The food is about standard issue Southern non franchise almost fast food but maybe a notch above. Basically where you order at a counter and go sit down. The prices are pretty steep, but it is a solid place to go during town events such as Friday nights in the summer, Waldensian Festival, and the fourth of July car show. 2 Stars for location, 1 Star for food read more

This "cute" little diner and ice cream joint is little in many ways. I had a banana split with maybe two tablespoons of ice cream on a banana covered in whipped cream for $4.00 and my friend got maybe 2 tablespoons of ice cream in his fudge sundae w a sprinkling of fudge for 5! The theme may be the 50's, but the prices are definitely today! It's a total ripoff and the teenage girls they have running this place are rude, ignorant and spend more time focusing on their personal conversations instead of giving quality customer service! Walking in I was taking by surprise by the life sized mannequin in the dining room! The decor is tacky but fits the "theme". Classic 50's with pictures of locals and their cars lining the restaurant gives it a nice feel. The restaurant was clean looking but there were so many flies. We ordered two burgers Carolina style and a corn dog kids meal. It came out pretty quick. I almost wish they took longer. My burger was dry and thin with tasteless chili and bland slaw. The fries however were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned! All and all the meal was decent but was way over priced. We spent 21 dollars so they should either up the quality of the product or adjust the prices. Might come back if we are in town for an ice cream not a meal. read more

The encounter I had with the staff was just plain rude. It obviously bothered me enough to go out of my way and review the place. I placed a seemingly easy order--a single ice cream cone to an older gentleman that seemed like he had better things to do than be at his job working. He was curt and arrogant the whole time I was ordering. While I was waiting for my order, which apparently took two people to make, a man came in behind me to order. He waited, and waited and waited, until finally he had enough and left. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for a single ice cream cone. The whole time the man was waiting at least three people came from the kitchen, peered out into the restaurant, made eye contact with the obviously antsy customer and returned to the kitchen without saying anything. The two people who I assume were working the front were hovered over the ice cream station talking and also ignoring the customer just trying to order. They too made eye contact with him and didn't even have the decency to tell him "I'll be with you in a second." Once the custom left, which I don't blame him, I was about to leave myself because it took them about 5 minutes to make my ice cream cone the two workers started cutting up and making jokes about the customer that had just left. It was loud enough to where I could hear it and very unprofessional to say the least. Especially considering the workers were mature enough to know better... well you would think people clearly in their 30's and 50's would be. Guess not. I used to love this place, but now it just seems like the people they hire hate their job/lives and take it out on the customers. I've heard from other people they also experienced a rude staff so this is from all of us. read more

This is one of the only places we have to eat in Valdese so we do have to break down and go there now and then. Today we ordered a Ruben with a side and it came to $8.38 when it was supposed to be $7.19. This is already a very overpriced sandwich. I asked the young lady, Haley, at the register why it was so much and she stated that they had charged .35 extra for the two cups of dressing on the side. Her attitude was rude and short as it is every time she is there. When I then asked her about the ranch for the chips she once again got an attitude and stormed into the back to ask if they put it in the box...they had not. I won't bore you with the whole exchange but as I asked her questions about the price and inconsistency she informed me that she wasn't going to argue with me. avoid it if possible, there are better places to eat..staff apparently does little, take sometime if you go an look around the store..dead bugs on floor, kitchen/service area has dirty kitchen utensils laying all over, the model at the door needs her wardrobe changed, or the doll replaced.. food is ok, but well overpriced. the store is not very clean an the staff mostly teeny boppers who could care less about good service.. we say avoid myra's an move on.. read more
