The firm entered a guilty plea on my behalf for driving an unregistered vehicle, even though I had registration for the vehicle. Before this plea was entered, the attorney never called me to discuss my case. The paralegal also never contacted me to ask for my documents, hear my side of what happened, or ask how I wanted to plead. From my perspective, they went into court without first getting the necessary information or documentation from me. When I called the office to provide my documents, the first woman who answered the phone was very kind and professional. However, my experience speaking with the paralegal, Sheryl, was completely different. I found her communication very disrespectful. She repeatedly spoke over me, raised her voice, and would not allow me to finish explaining the situation. She said, "first of all," and then proceeded to tell me that the MVC record I obtained was not sufficient proof that my vehicle was registered at the time. After finding out that a guilty plea had been entered, I made it clear that I did not agree with that plea. I was told that they would file an appeal, but the appeal was not filed as I was told it would be. I have also still not received a call from the attorney personally to discuss what happened or explain how this situation will be corrected. I am currently waiting to see what steps this law firm takes regarding the appeal and whether they appropriately address this situation.
