    Thai tea

What a delicious treat. The sticky rice dessert was sweeter than I expected so it's definitely good to share. I have never had purple rice so that was really good too. The pleasant surprise was the sweetness level of the Thai tea, which is normally so overly sweet from everywhere I have ever had it and this one was just perfect. Will be takin my sister and mom here when they visit. Great job ladies!

Mango sticky rice from a food cart... and I didn't have to go to Thailand for it?!?! SCORE! Sure, it's west LA pricing, and it lacks the sweating-my-butt-off-in-the-heat authenticity of a stall in SE Asia, but it's in a convenient place and it's definitely tasty enough all things considered.

Been craving mango sticky rice for weeks only to get shut down by all my favourite spots because it's 'not in season. ' I was desperate and even tried to make it myself lol. So when this popped up on my Instagram timeline I was excited! I ran their Yelp stats and couldn't wait to try- My mango sticky rice! I'm very glad that I found them too because it was so good! I tried the half red/ half white rice and enjoyed both. I will definitely be back for another box full and would highly recommend folks to give them a try!

Best mango sticky rice I've ever had. You can choose between white or purple rice or half&half. The mangos are ripe, perfectly sweet, and topped with sesame seeds. Usually the sticky rice I get from Thai restaurants are a bit dry, but here the rice was drenched in the tasty coconut sauce while still retaining that chewy texture that I love. There were two girls running the stall. You can pay through Venmo or cash only. The stall is located on Sepulveda & Palms. Inside the Trader Joe's parking lot!

My Mango Sticky Rice pops up rarely at Palms/Sepulveda, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but it's absolutely worth the trek. This little family-owned /stand (two sisters!) doles out only Mango Sticky Rice as you can guess, but boy does it dole it out gooood. Don't worry about cash either, they take Venmo if you don't have any! There's one of three choices when you get there, can opt to get their normal mango sticky rice, a berry rice one or half and half. When I went, we got the half and half, curious about the berry rice, and funnily enough, I'd recommend the berry rice over the normal one after trying both! It just has a nice inherent sweetness that adds to the coconut milk drizzle. On top of it all, the mangos feel fresh and everything just pops nicely together. Doesn't hurt that the two sisters running it are incredibly nice and helpful as well! Definitely hit this pop-up stand on Tuesday or Saturdays for a nice little dessert option to cap pff your meal that day.

SOO good! Heard about this place through reddit and I knew I had to come because it's hard to find good mango sticky rice for an affordable price anywhere in LA. I came here around 12PM on a Saturday and they were out of a lot of things already but this was some really good mango sticky rice! I got the white rice version and wow the rice was covered in coconut milk and was so sweet and creamy. The mango was also freshly cut in front of me and because it's not mango season yet, the mangoes aren't as sweet and juicy. But it was still very good! For the price ($6), you get A LOT of rice and mango so this was definitely worth it. The ladies ran out of ice and half and half for Thai tea by the time I got there, so I opted for their almond milk version which I thought I wouldn't like as much since I usually like creamier drinks. However to my surprise, it tastes just like regular Thai tea with milk but probably a lot more healthy. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

This place popped up on my IG feed and I'm glad that I finally had a chance to try it. They have pop up stand on Saturday early afternoon, next to the Coffee Bean on Palms/Sepulveda. I was really excited to try the purple yam, but they didn't have it that day. We ended up getting the mango with 1/2 white and 1/2 purple rice. It's my first time trying sweet purple rice, and the texture's different from the white rice. They're both pretty good and I'm glad that I got the combo. The mango was also ripe and sweet.. this dessert is perfect for late summer. If you like Thai Tea, I'd also recommend trying theirs!

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.

We had an 8:45…read morereservation and showed up about 30 minutes before closing, honestly expecting they might turn us away since they close at 9, but we were seated immediately. The restaurant itself is cute and definitely has a vibe -- designed to feel like an old Italian village street even though it's indoors. The ambiance was probably the strongest part of the experience. One thing we noticed right away was that there seemed to be only one actual server handling almost the entire dining room. Huge credit to him because he was working nonstop and doing his best, but service naturally suffered because he was stretched too thin. Another employee would occasionally clear tables but barely helped with guests, so most of the night was just waiting for the server to finally have a second to check back in. We started with the Caesar salad and honestly it was one of the weakest Caesar salads I've had in a long time. It felt like chopped lettuce with mayo-style dressing drizzled on top and random parmesan thrown over it. It gave early-2000s restaurant salad energy before places started properly coating the greens in dressing instead of just squeezing sauce over parts of the plate. The menu itself was interesting though, especially the vegan options. We aren't vegan anymore but were for over a year, so we can appreciate when restaurants actually put effort into those dishes. We originally wanted regular pasta with mushroom sauce but modifications were limited, so we ordered the vegan mushroom pasta and added grilled chicken. Surprisingly, that ended up being the best dish of the night -- really flavorful and satisfying. The traditional red sauce pasta, on the other hand, was very plain and under-seasoned. We added two meatballs for extra protein (which were $10 each), but only one came out. When we pointed it out, they apologized and said they wouldn't charge for the second one, which was fair, but the bigger issue was that the inside of the meatball was cold. It tasted like it had been pre-cooked, refrigerated, and rushed through reheating before serving. Overall, between the inconsistent food and the overwhelmed service, this just didn't feel worth coming back for. If I gave 4 stars it would feel overly generous, so realistically this lands at 3 stars for me.
