For previous trips, we've driven the entire way, or flown to Savanah (SAV) and driven in from there. For this trip, we flew all the way to Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH). Our flight landed late and none of the rental car agencies had any staff working; my wonderful wife had figured this out and already had Yellow Cab waiting for us. It took a bit longer than expected to get through the airport and get our bags, and our driver, Ethel, waited patiently... she then got us quickly and safely to our hotel. After we got checked in we called and Ethel picked us up again; and when our daughter requested BBQ for dinner, Ethel got us to a great restaurant. I explained that the Taxi ride from the Airport to the Resort was only $85. The Polite Shuttle employee went on to slander that taxi service saying they must be doing something "under the table". How can this be when the Savanah Airport Information Center also told me the price would be $85. The Polite Shuttle employee wanted me to commit to the ride and pay for it in advance. This obviously wouldn't leave me time to comparison shop. I ended up taking an Uber to the airport and the cost was $81. Talk about trying to take advantage...it is six days later and I'm still disgusted!
