This is a very new opening here amongst a row of what is mostly chinese restaurants, and which…read moreserves more Sichuan style cuisine. Having just come back from Chengdu and the flavours of their particular cuisine still " fresh " in my taste buds it was too much to walk past this place. Had to go in and try it out and see how it rates against the " real thing ". And we were not disappointed. Though a small place it felt welcoming as were the staff, and they have done the interior decor quite nicely too. Service was really good with the orders once taken , the food would come out quite quickly. We ended up ordering the steamed beef, of which I could have ate a lot more so delicious it was. Then came the steamed pork ribs which although small were as tasty as the last dish. The bigger dish of Loongs Special Beef Noodles ( I believe a " limited " edition so to speak? ) came next. Noodles and meatballs and other ingredients combined to make it yet another delicious dish. These guys were sure on their " A " game regarding everything thus far. We also ordered the steamed egg with pork mince. Enough said about the other dishes thus far....well this was well and truly on a par with them. Well I think I've said enough . We went in at about 9.30 but by the time we left there was a few more tables filling up. So seems like it is a popular enough place even on a Monday morning. We ended up having the prawn dumpling ( 虾饺 ), beef siu mai ( 牛肉烧卖 ), congee ( 明火粥 ) , prawn toast ( 虾多士 ) , bbq pork bun ( 叉烧包 ) and pan fried turnip cake ( 煎萝卜糕 ). All were delicious , amongst the better I have tasted and washed down with the usual tea. Service was friendly ,quick and the price not bad. One thing which really stuck out to me was how clean the restaurant looked, as if it has been redecorated recently. All in all a very good yum cha experience.

This time we came for dinner along with several dozen of my wife's work colleagues for a early celebration of the Chinese New Year, hosted by her boss. We had a small selection of wines for each table , of which I chose to have some of the Villa Maria Viognier. Nothing special , but it went down well with me. As for the eating or maybe as is common with a lot of Chinese dinners it should be loosely called " feast " there was food aplenty....coming out so quickly that as I have found when eating such in other restaurants it becomes difficult to squeeze all the dishes onto the table. But we managed. As for each separate dish I could not name them all, though I can say there was lobster , pork, pigs ear , duck and more. I have to admit it was the first duck I have tasted for a long time...and can honestly say it tasted pretty good, almost on a par with the duck we tried in one of the more famous duck restaurants in Beijing. Just lacking in the chef coming and slicing it in front of you as is done in Beijing plus a few other traditional methods they have there. Anyway I had a taste of everything and have no bad words to say...all delicious and worthy of the 5 stars. And of course the service was good as well. A very enjoyable night!!

Every time we come is busy , even on Monday night's which tells you a lot about a place, yes? Amongst all the dishes have tasted in the time we have been a recent one has stood out as the best and most delicious we have had. It is the fish cooked in soy sauce, tofu and fried corncake ( 贴饼子炖鱼 ). Outstanding and worth getting the odd little fish bone stuck annoyingly between the teeth. Can highly recommend to others who are after good simple chinese cuisine. At a not too bad price as well.

Here you can have hotpot , coldpot , just dishes or BBQ. You choose. The kiwifruit juice is delicious. You have to try if you ever go. Staff are quick to serve and very friendly , cheerful and you will often see the owner running around helping. Which is always a good thing to see .And the place itself is really clean. They have a system where if you register and dine there enough and accumulate $500 of spending you will then receive 5% off the next times you return. Can barely fault the restaurant which is why I gave it a 5. Enough said. Try it yourself if passing and you won't regret it.

The sign stood there for several months stating " Yum Cha coming soon "...and we waited ..and waited..and now just last night it opened. At last!! Tucked in the back of the building at 130 Lincoln Rd it has a lot of parking , so no worries in regards to that. Upon entering just now you would notice the walls are pretty bare of any form of decoration, but i would think that they would want to " jazz " it up sometime soon. The welcome was good and we were shown quickly to a table. It was quiet when we arrived but upon leaving it had picked up quite a bit, including in two of the three private rooms they have. Anyway looking at the menu we ordered the Beef with cashew nut, cumin  lamb with pancake ( or bun if you rather call it that ) and as even at 7pm some of the Yum Cha menu was still available we ordered the blue egg porridge, bbq pork bun and custard bun. The porridge was the best i have tasted for a long time...sssoooo delicious!!...but don't forget them buns ... definitely tasty too. As for the other dishes... the beef was okay , but the lamb was far better. Maybe it's because i am partial to the dishes where you eat the meat wrapped inside the bun or pancake. They don't have a liquor licence yet, but you can still BYO. So anyway overall service was great, food was good ( the porridge being outstanding! ), atmosphere inside despite lack of decoration was very good and price reasonable. So we uplifted our plans for lunch and went there instead. It was nice and quiet compared to most Yum Chas, which was nice to begin with but we soon found out why there wasn't that many people there. I can't say that the food was bad, but I also can't say it was good either. It was just a little too strange for my liking. I think it's definitely down to the time of day we went there. It was quite late in the afternoon so they had probably had their lunch run and were just giving us what was left over. Never the less, it's good having a yum cha over on the shore to be there to instantly satisfy your yum cha cravings.
