I was worried about the transition especially because she doesn't seem to do well with change and also because she had loved the Bryant Bright Ideas so much that I didnt think another daycare could top it. I was very surprised! She adjusted immediately and loves going to school here! She is 3 years old, has great teachers and all the other staff members are so nice and welcoming as well. Even the lady that runs this location is as nice as she can be. She always says "hi" and "bye", "have a great day." My daughter is always coming home telling me what she has learned that day and how much fun she had. I always feel like my daughter is being well taken care of, being treated right, learning, and is safe. Which is so important with childcare. If my daughter is ever sick and running fever, they call me right away and I'm able to run and get her. I've had a previous encounter with a daycare that wouldn't tell me when she was sick, so this is something very important to me. I also know that someone can't just come in the school and check her out. They use a thumbprint system and if you send someone else to get your child, you have to write a note with your DL beside it, take a picture of it, and email it to the school. I love the extra steps that help ensure my childs safety!

Overall, I give this school 4/5 stars at this time because, for me, the most important aspects of…read morechildcare are quite strong, and there is some room for improvement. We've been there 1.5 years. The strengths start with the staff--almost all staff are engaged (read: not on their phones, willing to conference and work with parents), and pleasant. Another strength is their policies -- the ratios they require are better than DHS, they implement and advertise policies for safety (eg, parents don't be on cell phone at pick up). Plus, the Montessori curriculum is actually implemented in classrooms--it's not just a daycare holding place. We moved from another daycare and my child's physical and cognitive development skyrocketed when we Changed schools. Now, the school is in a huge old house, so it's not fancy in material but they regularly repair and have an excellent playground the kids visit 1-2 times daily. I find it perfectly quaint. The limits right now are on communication about big changes. They have a monthly newsletter that's brief and helpful. They lack other infrastructure for communicating with parents that really works--some have a Facebook page, some rely on texting parents...but it's not consistent or multifaceted enough to catch everybody (eg some people email, some need flyers). I've learned about big changes by noticing something and asking, Like a new teacher joining or combining two classrooms. My other issue is with nutrition, which plays a big role in child behavior, mood, and development . "Snack" is often processed food with few nutrients (eg Cheez its, graham crackers), and hot lunch is better but not great. Now, we compensate by bringing our child's lunch, but she eats most or more of her allotted sugar each day at school snacks and doesn't get many important nutrients from the food provided.

My daughter went to Little Scholars back in August. She had just turned 6 months old that week. I…read morecouldn't imagine how awful this would be for her. She was there for 9 weeks. For 9 weeks I begged them to feed her. I would go on my lunch break occasionally to try to feed her but she'd be asleep. I talked to the director, assistant director, and many staff. I walked in one day to find her sitting on the other side of the room in a bouncy seat with a bottle propped up feeding her as she slept. The teacher and all the other kids were on the other side of the class. A bottle was laying on the floor. Multiple times I arrived and they would pick her up and get her bottle out of her bed. At this time my daughter couldn't hold the bottle herself. One day I showed up and the only teacher in her room had a mask on. I asked if she was sick and she said she had the bug. I walked in many times to find my daughter just crying while the staff talked. One time I stood in line approximately 15 minutes trying to pay. I could hear a baby screaming the whole time. My heart broke when I got to the room to find out it was mine. She had an ear infection for the entire time she was at the daycare. We were going to the Dr biweekly. We tried multiple medications and then had shots to try to clear it up. She had a rash so bad that her skin came off. It left a brown mark for about a month. The director assured me the last week that she would take care of the situation. Offered me two free weeks. That Friday when I picked up my daughter her paper said she had two bottles but only one thing of formula was missing. The next Monday I showed up. They told me she'd been fussy that day. I go to leave and still, two bottles were written, no baby food given, and only one thing of formula was missing. I asked her class room teacher and she told me that she had only had one bottle because she refused the other. But how can you refuse something you were never given? What about her baby food? Her diaper was about to burst with poop and pee. The sheet claimed they changed her less than 5 minutes before. I changed her before I left. The director was out picking up kids from school. I contacted them and they said they'd get to the bottom of it. That was the last time I heard from them. There's no way I would take 1 let alone 2 weeks of free daycare at the expense of my daughter. We now have a sitter come to the house. I almost quit my job because of this. I hate that I ever left my daughter there. She's back to her happy self again. Please don't put your child through this.
