Despite giving them every document and receipt regularly for over 9 months, when it came time to compile our annual accounts for companies House, it was very apparent that they clearly had no clue how our business operated. We had to resubmit many documents and receipts as the owner denied that we had given them to him. We then got hit with around £700 in hidden bills for 'work' they had apparently done that I had no way of verifying. When I questioned the owner about this he became very rude, obstructive and generally unprofessional. I then had to find another accountant and very quickly dispensed with their services. Tax Assist Sandhurst's errors cost us almost £1000 to fix as we had no choice but to pay an outside bookkeeping service to completely redo all of our 2014 accounts. Tax Assist operate a monthly upfront payment, so we then had to resubmit my accounts to them as they still owed us annual accounts included in the upfront payments. The owner was then very obstructive, wouldn't return my calls and dragged his heels for approx. 6 weeks before submitting back to us for signature. When it came back was full of errors as I had them checked by our new accountancy firm. When these were politely pointed out, again the owner became very rude and unprofessional and had the cheek to blame us for his own incompetence and refused to amend the errors. Again we had no choice but to pay my bookkeeping service to amend his errors on QuickBooks. Summary: Do not let this company anywhere near your business, my opinion is that they are utterly incompetent. Save yourselves a lot of grief and money and just get a reputable accountancy firm from the outset as I wish that we had done.
