It will take at least two and half hours to to complete visit. You might want to plan your route to visit the museum. It take planning to visit every rooms. The display divide into subcategory. Include medieval Europe, renaissance Europe, 17 and 18 century, 19 century, medieval burgundy, And more. This museums have a lot of burgundy history. It is one of the biggest public collections over 50 rooms. The collection include sculpture, painting, metal art and more. They do have some Egypt collection.

I'm not really sure, because it was all in French. I really loved how the women mannequins had these really interesting head coverings. They were lacy, and covered the bun that most women seem to wear at that point in time. There were rooms set up to show a typical kitchen at that point in time, a bedroom, etc. It was free, and honestly worth the visit.

I had never heard of the kings but if you have studied French history, they are probably recognizable. It was certainly interesting to see the early tools, but similar to many other French museums, one of the most interesting features was the actual building itself. The museum was originally founded in 1832 and is housed in an old church built in 1325. The many different styles of rooms are on display but my favorite was the basement brick pillars room that held stone carvings. I enjoyed seeing the ancient architecture theories that you would not see on any modern buildings. How do you make a large church from brick and stone? You do it with conical brick foundation supports. I also enjoyed seeing the room with the carved faces that were once displayed on the tops and fronts of buildings and churches. Most faces were carved using the idealized features of men and women, but some were uneven or fat, as if they were purposefully made to look funny. My knowledge of the romance languages did not always help me understand each artifact.
