This art museum is dedicated to an artist work of the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec who was born in Albi. Many of the art works are the last painting of Henri. The artist mother donated the remaining work of Henri to the museum at 1922. This huge collection is now on display here. They include the last painting of the examination of the doctors. Henri did sketch himself in his drawings. It is interesting to see many rue de moulin painting collection. The art symbolizes the Moulin Rouge in that time. He also has some art work on circus, society, medicine, and more. Many show posters of the show have been done by him are in display. Please note that this museum is not a destination museum but a fun activity if you are visiting the picturesque town in which it is located. It is also one of the few things that is open during the off-season, should you be visiting during the winter or early spring. For the price of admission, you can go through the series of exhibits as part of a self-guided tour. Exhibits are located in two moderately sized rooms. If you watch tons of baking shows, this is the place for you. The sculptures are detailed and ornate, most of which have a card explaining how long it took to complete them. It makes you appreciate how painstaking some of the creations were (admittedly, I would not have the patience to attempt any of them). You also receive a tasting when finished. There is a small seating area to enjoy them, which is separate from the gift shop. The gift shop has lots of different types of chocolate truffles and a signature biscuit which was created (but previously forgotten) in the area. Staff speaks English and French, and tour information is provided in multiple languages.

To compensate, I was offered entry to the temporary exhibit: Toulouse Renaissance. They have this very lovely outside area in the middle of the museum and I spent lots of time in the sun surrounded by flowers and people. It's bigger than Fondation Bemberg but also newer. So it's completely different styles. I'd say if you have children, take them here or the national museum. The visit took me about 1 hour and a half.

There are two floors, the top looking more like an actual museum (empty rooms with paintings). There's also a little passage outside that leads you to the second floor but you can enjoy the view before you move on. I don't remember how much it cost me but it was quite cheap for a student, and even if the museum is small it's worth taking an hour or two to appreciate how unique it is.
