Very informative and interesting museum about silk production. As we entered, the woman at the check in asked if we'd like to watch a movie in English about the complete life cycle of silk production. The 20 minute introductory film set the stage for understanding silk worm farming, production and silk spinning inventions over the last several centuries. It also highlighted the French contributions and the other silk competitors from Asia and Italy. Inside the museum are informative placards with English subtitles that showed production, spinning machines, both manual and machine and what life was like 100 or more years ago when French silk manufacturing was at its peak. Inside there are working machines that showed the industrial revolution of silk production. Well worth an hour or two to understand how your ties, dresses, undergarments or shirts are made. read more
