Firstly, is not anything that a Handyman can fix for you, not even a licensed plumber can mess with those, you have to have a fire certified specialist. That's where ASI comes in. I called them and spoke with one of their employees on the phone, on the same day that I had to shut down the water for my entire house. She was super helpful and convinced one of their employees to stop what he was currently doing and get down to my place to help me get my water back on again. Victor, the ASI employee who showed up, was fantastic. Not only did he fix the valve, but he was also a very interesting person in general with lots of stories related to his industry and adventures he had had in it. With only a couple of delays, my water was back on before the sunset on the same day that I had broken that little valve. Highly recommended. And when I say "highly recommended" I'm talking about using ASI, I'm not recommending that you break your inspector's test valve on the outside of your house, those things can get expensive.

Golden State Water didn't call back until hours and hours after I reported a water leak emergency, and the regular plumber who came out (while a really excellent person) unfortunately didn't have the licensing or training on how to solve this. The team at AFPS hopped on a FaceTime call with me and talked me through locating and shutting off the water and open the drain valve to prevent further water damage. Afterwards, they were able to come out and fix the specialized pipe. Their price was reasonable, they had a positive attitude throughout, and even identified a problem with the build where it looks like the builder didn't put a nail plate in the stud to protect the pipe. They installed a nail plate at no added cost at their own expense. Overall, they solved what was a quickly growing disaster and I am very grateful for their support. Also, although I'm leaving a glowing review--they never asked for a review. They didn't offer freebies of any kind for a review like I've seen with some other businesses. I them called Black Bird. They sent Fernando out to handle the issue. He found the problems and corrected them. It turns our that the problems were actually caused by the other company. In other words, the other company wanted to fix their own problem and rip us off. Needless to say, our new company going forward will be Black Bird and their wonderful employee, Fernando.
