It probably isn't even zoned for a hotel. It seems listed on some international lodging websites, but there is no other internet footprint. ... but more importantly, there is no hotel here. We started of at the cafetaria. You first pay to get tickets (cash recommended). They have a selection of sandwiches (eggs, herring, salami, ham and cheese, salmon) and cakes and tarts. The cafetaria inside the church is quite spacious. The bazaar area is divided into the silent auction, kids crafts and face paint, food and Christmas decor as well as some clothing. There seemed to be an issue of having the decor in the most crammed section in stairs, where you had to line up and didn't have much room to maneuveur. They do run out of a lot of baked goods, so that should have been our first step. They also had booths for the Finnish Embassy and learning Finnish. Overall, fun and family friendly event. Beware that you cannot take strollers inside.

It's worth exploring: most of Tenleytown's first families are buried here, and as someone who did her AP Human Geography paper on the demographics of the people interred, I can tell you that it tells a really interesting story about the changing immigrant populations of NW DC in the 19th and early 20th centuries. (I know how much you've been dying to hear more about that.) I feel a little ridiculous giving a 3* rating to a cemetery. No knock on the dead or anything - that rating is for the living. Fie, fie, living people, for forgetting about this cemetery, which often looks neglected. Its maintenance depends on an all-volunteer corps that hasn't updated its website since 2005. I fear that this, like Holy Rood in Georgetown, is an endangered place, so it's worth checking out while you still can.

It was the last thing I ate and was very refreshing after putting my palate through such a rigorous task! The most out of the box thing I tried was the peanut butter chicken from Roger Miller. For a half price of the restaurant cost you can experience the Lebanese delicacies and maybe try something new - like a Jallab ( It's made by diluting the syrup made of grape molasses, dates and rose water with water) The host (Lebanon men and women) were gracious and welcoming. Music over speakers was great, food and drinks even better. I felt like I had something very healthy. Vegetables and meats were savory; falafel (poor men burger) was made right there at that moment and it was extremely light, crispy with great taste. Actually, there was nothing to complain except about the size of my stomach that could not try more delicious food. I am sorry that I did not witness any dances or national costumes, or any cultural program with live music at the time I was there. If there was a program with times I would have timed it better. There was a section for the kids and parking was available at this fee free festival. I was happy to support Lebanese-American community.

What an amazing lunch!…read more I'll start by saying I have been to Olazzo before, but today's lunch was special. I was introducing my girlfriend and my mom to each other. The host was so friendly and helped get us seated in a booth, and very shortly after seating we were greeted by our server Josh. Josh was very polite, and I felt good vibes before the food ever hit the table. He recommended their special, a trout on pasta dish. The entree had a very generous portion of fish, and our server made sure to drop off everything we needed to accompany our food, extra cheese, water refills, he was attentive and took great care of us. Next time I dine at Olazzo, I'm going to be looking for Josh!

Hostess, gentleman who seated us, and our server were wonderful. The food wasn't the best ever but it was good. We decided to give it a shot despite low customer ratings. We are Black Americans. When we walked in I picked up on a negative vibe but dismissed it. When you walk into a small establishment and it get's quiet or you get the looks turn and no one speaks turn around and leave. There were a few people at the bar chatting up staff (regulars). As we walked by the bar headed to the table I glanced over to the what clearly was the person in charge. I smiled no response. We eat, I head to the ladies restroom. I passed the same gentleman who, again looked directly at me, I smiled and he turned his head. I passed by him on the way back to the table. I specifically looked him the face and smiled. He looked at me and again turned his head blatantly. We are aware of prejudice so I didn't let him get under my skin. I smile and speak to anyone and am happy to do so whether it is reciprocated. It takes negative energy to be mean spirited. Willing to take our money but refuse to acknowledge us as paying customers. We spent quite a bit for two people. I will not recommend this place if it was the last Italian restaurant. To the owners- I could not tell if you were the person I encountered today or a manager. Either way- Just Wow.
