Wabi-Sabi Noodle House - Veggie unagi (crispy)

Vegan Japanese food that you can find in Quezon City is a concept that really got me impressed. It…read morecan be found in a stall across Il Terrazo near Tomas Morato. The price points is surprisingly affordable. I am avid fan of anything Corn and their cream cheese sweetcorn Tempura is an instant favorite and it is just Php95. The batter is deep fried to the right crispness level. Shirataki noodles was the base for the Ramen which I often unlike. Despite the use of alternative noodles, the broth and recipe makes up for a spicy Tantanmen. Ended the meal with their Bingsu as dessert which is topped with a generous serving of Mango. The overall dining experience is great.

See, this area has around 3 reliable vegetarian/vegan restaurants, and among one of them is this glorious Wabi Sabi branch. I've been a long-time customer of their Makati branch, but this place was just so delightful. For one, it was much nicer than their place in The Collective--brick walls, warm lighting, and with a playlist that includes Asobi Seksu, you just can't complain. Actually, I can't complain about anything during my stay. Sure, the whole place was packed with senior citizens lunching on a Sunday, but it just proves how Wabi-Sabi has captured the tastebuds of everyone, not just retired hipsters (Lol) such as myself. I loved my bowl of Viet Pho, a mushroom-based broth noodle soup that comes with crunchy faux pork bits. If you want something warm and light on a rainy day, this is perfect. Other recommendations: Their okonomigyoza is AMAZING. The Banh Mi is a must (you can have it vegan- just specify so they can use the vegan mayo). Vietnamese ca phe is always a good choice, but my all-time favorite is their lemongrass iced tea. Oh, and the service here is far more friendlier and faster than the Makati branch. They whipped up my pho 5 minutes after I ordered it!

Small place with big menu - is what my friend said on his first visit. That is probably why taste…read moreis occasionally inconsistent. With that said, I like the appetizing clean herby flavor of the base broth and regardless if you are having white or red meat with it, the freshness always stands out. I am no chef but it seems to me that this is a case where you can't have too much herb in your soup. The space is a bit cramped and service is soso - considering that there are only a handful of tables to wait on. Nonetheless, this is still one of places I'd go to whenever I want a steamy bowl of soup.

My wife was craving Pho and wanted to give this place a try. She had the seafood pho (forgot the…read morename of the dish) which was pretty tasty. I had a lemonade (the best in a while) the fried calamari and stuffed chicken wings. My two year old had the fried rice egg roll. Service was a miss as we had been seated for about ten minutes while our server bussed the tables. Once she was done and only because we had motioned her over dos she take our order. The place has air conditioning which makes it a plus as you try to get out of the heat. Seating is super tight which makes it a bit hard to navigate when the diner gets busy. Place was 4 stars at best, but it bad to knock a star off due to the slow service and items that were on the menu but not available. Give this place a try, hopefully you'll get better service than we did

I can safely say this is currently my favorite place to go when I want to eat burgers. First, cause…read morefor me it's cheaper and not overly priced and it is not pretentious unlike some other burger joints (ex. Army Navy). I stumbled upon this gem just a year ago. It can be a bit crowded because of the limited space but it usually isn't. When it is crowded, I just have them to go. I usually get the classic burger and it just never fails to satisfy my tastebuds. Their bread changed this year but I think it's for the better. It just adds texture. They have that distinctive taste like when you eat it, you'll know it's from BBB. Tried their blue cheese, it was also good. I just really like their burger, I dnt know why. Between them and Zark's, I'd choose this one. Many love Zark's but I just think it is more unhealthy than BBB. I love how attentive and full of initiative their service is. Also the servers are very courteous and they all look so friendly. One time, I asked not to put onions on my burger and they assured me there's no onion itself but also informed me that their was some of it in the mayo which was fine with me. Love their service! Their place is a bit small but it has the feeling of intimacy with the politeness of the servers. They really make sure you're comfortable. It feels like home. They offer a lot of burger choices (I especially think Hahalapeño is a crafty name) on both 1/3 lb and 1/4 lb. You can add Php40 to make it a value meal which includes fries and a drink. They also have rice and pasta dishes with the burger meat. So I hope this helps, you should try this one! I loveeee it!

The flavor, the juiciness, the texture, the quality, even the lingering after taste is just remarkable. I've tried their nearby competitor but the quality of this competitor's meat is cheap and gritty; but, it is filling. Quantity or quality?? You decide! I've been to many burger places here in the US where we live; but, if you want quality burgers, if you like premium, I would say BIG BB is the place to go. It's so good that on our last visit to the PI, we stopped by the Star Mall BigBB store to buy 2 Triple Xs to eat at the airport for the two hour wait before boarding our plane back to SFO. Yummm! BTW, their courteous service is another great reason we dine there too. But it can get crowded because their store has limited seating. So, at times, we order delivery during the dinner hours. At any rate, you can't go wrong. Wish they had a store here in the US. Better than In-N-Out or Red Robin's. Oh Man, biting that triple burger and the moist juice dripping down my mouth .... OMG!
