Recently,I spent a wonderful early December Saturday in this huge,wonderful art museum.I devoted my…read moreday primarily to studying 19th Century Austrian Art.I saw wonderful oil paintings by the giants of 19th Century Austrian Art including;Hans Makart("Japanese Lady"),Leopold Muller("Camel Market,Cairo"),Franz Steinfeld,Friederich Gauermann,Ferdinand Georg Waldmuller,Joseph Fuhrich("Madonna and Christ Child",fine Nazarene work).Johan Reiter("The Emancipated One")Friederich Amerling,Johan Wengler("Bowlers"),Rudolf Von Alt("Saint Stephan's Cathedral,Vienna"),Eugen Jettel,Anton Romako,and Carl Moll among others.Labelling of its fine,copious collection of 19th Century Austrian paintings was strictly in German.My knowledge of German is basic.Members of their staff were kind enough to help me understand the titles of the works of Art.I also saw a magnificent winter landscape painting by Dutch Master,Claes Molenaer.I was in this art museum from 10 to 5 PM.I did not have time to study their Austrian Baroque holdings.
