This little hidden gem of a museum is off the busy high-speed Windsor Road. Lots of older nostalgic items on display. In fact the majority of the museum is dedicated to exhibiting such objects. Lots of fascinating things like old cable cars, antique trains & tractors. But also smaller model boats, airplanes, etc.
An excellent display of architecture & design items (e.g., contemporary chairs, rescued decorative details, etc.). Walking through the museum, one can reminisce about older technology or hobbies. One complaint of this place is the small size and font used for the cards describing the items. I also wished there was more museum as this place does whet one's appetite to learn more. There's also little in the way of "hands-on" activities here.
This is one of 3 associated "science" museums in Sydney (the 2nd in Parramatta being significantly upgraded). Another review will cover the largest one at Ultimo. This museum is open only on weekends from 10-4, but we'll worth the trip. Excellent & educational way to spend 2-4 hours. read more
