We entered, placed my bag in a locker and walked through to the entrance. You go past a coffee store and merchandise section before entering. We were immediately greeted by Sr. Nelson a guide who asked if we would like to be shown around, he asked what languages we spoke, being English and Portuguese, he proceeded with the tour saying everything in both languages, he was so lovely and very enthusiastic about Pelé. The museum has 4 floors, and our tour began at the bottom and worked up. The floors were in chronological order so it was very easy to follow the history. The exhibit was interesting and full of mixed media, I was blown away! If you have the chance to go to the museum, and you love soccer/football, it is an absolute must! Thank you to Sr. Nelson for making our experience so incredible!

I really liked the set up of this museum. As opposed to…read morehaving artwork hanging on the wall, they were in clear glass cases in the middle of a huge room. They were organized in lines with the most recent pieces towards the front and the older pieces near the back. Because of this set up, the information about each work was on the back which makes you take the work in before knowing anything about it. There was also a good mix of Brazilian artists and more well known "classic" artists. Very cool.

You will walk through a security metal detector right before you are let inside the main entryway of the interior. I traveled from Pinheiros - I took the metro from Faria Lima station to Luz station. A one-way ticket for the metro should be R$4,30. There is a huge park across from Luz station where I walked through and explored a bit before locating Pinacoteca. Pinacoteca had some of my favorite exhibits on display when I was there. I kind of felt like I was in an NYC museum. Yes, there were a good amount of people inside, but it was not overly crowded and there were plenty of areas to disperse to if you prefer to see things with few people to no one around. I did have a hard time trying to figure out where the real exit was though, haha. I went so many different ways that seemed to lead to a dead-end (emergency exit door that I was afraid to try to open in case an alarm would sound). There is a cafe at the bottom floor by the main exit once you do find it. The line was pretty much by the door. I took a peek inside and it appeared like a buffet almost but I could be wrong. Must have been good cause they were crowded. I remember walking by the outdoor dining area on way to the entrance of the museum from the park and it looked busy. There is a small museum store outside with colorful umbrellas, tote bags, books, shirts, and other merchandise. The museum is also multi-level - elevator accessible as well as stairways on every corner I think (or at least on two opposite ends of the building). Ubers can pick you up / drop you off from the street side that faces the front of the museum.

This is a wonderful museum in a beautiful park. It's much larger than I expected. Many different…read moretypes of art and it's put together very well. It spans many generations, subjects and regions. All of the placards are in Portuguese which is unfortunate for me since I don't speak or read it but I was still very happy I came and I was able to get the essence of each piece just through observing them.

While it was neat to see the foods I'd eaten a million times in their component forms, what really stood out was the layout of the exhibit, lighting, aesthetic, and everything else that made it pleasant in addition to being informative. We also wandered around to see textiles and ceramics for sale, and settled into a cozy little area with lots of books on many different aspects of Japanese art and other culture, there for the browsing. You can browse the books they have on the first floor and also buy things at their gift shop. Upstairs there is a cafe/restaurant (on the pricier side) and another exhibit. Our favorite were the really nice bathrooms that have different settings on the toilets heehee, and overall it has a very nice minimalist interior and exterior design.
