Oh, of course I want great coffee. Beat Brew Bar coffee just EXCEEDED all expectations. Today I had a very good late roast pour over made by owner Virginia. I've been here before and had a great cafe con leche with oat milk. Lucio and Virginia put pride and love in their coffee and teas (hubby drinks teas). Lucio has been roasting and brewing since 2008. Yes he is an EXPERT! Trust me. The location is wonderful in the Old City near the Torres de Quart. Great space. Very comfortable and so welcoming. ALL organic. They also make kombucha and specialty coffee and tea drinks. I am hooked and very happy to have found this place early on in my arrival to Valencia. I will be here OFTEN! Frozen Greek yogurt sure sounded good after a carb-heavy pasta dinner at La Piazza nearby (review:…read morehttps://yelp.to/c8WZlW_ZnO). Jamie W and I weren't necessarily looking for dessert, but something creamy usually doesn't disappoint unless you're lactose intolerant. Luckily neither of us have that problem. Vanilla and Nutella sounded good. Regardless, we both went for the 3,8€ Pequena-size cup of Yogur Griego with KitKat crumbles (Photo 7). That's their natural flavor, and the tartness worked surprisingly well with the chocolate bits. They offer plenty of other toppings but I didn't recognize any of them (Photo 6). They also apparently offer waffles, but more carbs didn't appeal to us. First, it represents the largest produce market in Europe, spanning 86,000 square feet and housing over 1,200 stalls. With its towering dome (Photo 3) and basilica layout, this market feels huge... ...but not intimidating. This space is far less a tourist magnet than a daily functioning, community-focused operation heavily used by the local populace. We saw businesses specializing in fresh rabbit, snails, and specific bean varieties for authentic Valencian paella. There were entire stalls dedicated to freshly harvested saffron, local Valencian citrus, and local seafood like eel and cuttlefish. Of course, for your more immediate noshing needs, you can also find appetizing baked goods, Middle Eastern sweets, and Jamon by the slice. The Art Nouveau architecture is stunning with its iron-and-steel framework and stained glass roof panels. Located in the heart of the old city in Ciutat Vella, it's close to other key landmarks like La Lonja de la Seda (The Silk Exchange) and Catedral de Valencia. RELATED - Exploring Valencia? You are only a couple blocks in from the beach and also in the heart of this historic barrio. Tallat is also a roaster. Yes they really know coffee. The space here is inviting. Seating inside and also nice tables & chairs on the sidewalk terrace. Its a quiet street too which is a big plus. Great selection of coffee and organic teas, including Prana Chai. Though I didn't try any, they do have many baked goods made in-house and I was told they get their cakes from a local baker. I was lucky to have my cafe con leche (with oat milk) made by the expert barista Miguel. Miguel is very experienced (he also worked in a coffee cafe in Ruzafa where my husband and I met him last year) . He knows how to make a perfect cup! It was also fun to meet and be greeted by Andreas. Both young men are huge assets to Tallat. Their smiles and hospitality are top notch! Definitely recommend Tallat. And we can't wait to return.
