This little museum is so unsuspecting... it packs a really big religious and art history punch!
Most of the museum is based on the life of Santa Joana, who was a princess-turned-saint and inspired many artists to capture moments throughout her glorified life. The old convent has such a great feel to it, and the baroque-style church housed within is a serious showstopper. You can even walk up onto the altar! Almost nothing in this museum is roped off or barricaded, which is something I've never seen before with things that hold this much historic value. It really heightens the experience. It was one of the highlights of my time in Portugal, and I could not be happier I visited, also for the low low cost of 5 Euro! Whaaaaaaat?
The only thing I'd mention that I was not a fan of is the custom merch in the little gift shop. It's very "cutesy" and child-like; seriously odd.
