Built in his hometown and on the ruins of an old municipal theatre, where his first public exhibition took place as a child. It's now the world's largest collection of his work with over 1500 pieces. Salvador Dalí is a workforce. His brain was magic and I'm so happy he took us to his incredible world of fantasies and surrealism. Getting to see his greatest and last work of all time and being able to sit right on the place where his body rests as you admire the room, ceilings, walls, sounds and work of the greatest surrealist of all time, is something I will never forget. An absolute experience of a lifetime. Heart thumps, goosebumps, knees weak arms are heavy, mom's spaghetti type of experience. He created the world's largest surrealist object and got buried right in the glass dome he designed as his "final surrealistic act". He literally became a part of his greatest work of art. It's an honor to know his work and to be able to get to visit a place like this is a huge privilege I will never forget. It's not just a gallery but a surreal playground.

It's a one-way road and it's very narrow road going up a hill. I was there 20 minutes before my appointment time and I was declined entrance because I wasn't there 30 minutes before. I bought two tickets just in case I was late after I showed her my other ticket that I was on time and they still didn't let me go inside. The staff was very rude and did not have compassion towards humanity. I am also handicapped and cannot walk fast and they did not care. I am very disappointed with the staff. I tried to buy another ticket for the next day, but the entire month was booked already. Shame on these people. I had other staff saying that they will let me in, but it's not up to them and that they agreed that the people in the front behind the glass were wrong Hijos de puta Los trabajadores de la entrada. No tienes compasión con la gente. I am a you tuber and letting me inn would have helped business instead millions will know my experience!

He had to get written approval from her to visit. The home was unique and very Dali but the gardens were my favorite part. Little surprises hidden among the trees and birds! You cannot take photos inside the home but are allowed to photograph the garden. This is chronologically the third stop you should take on the Dali triangle tour but I found time wise that it was best to start here in Pubol, travel to Port Lligat for Dali's home, and finish with the museum in Figueres. All three can be done in one day with careful planning.

Anyway, while Museo del Cau Ferrat represents one man's collection of art, this more expansive exhibit represents the collection of not an artist but a wealthy benefactor. It was American magnate and philanthropist Charles Deering. Yes, the guy who founded International Harvester. Apparently, making his fortune in tractors meant he could afford three floors of art that spans ten centuries of art from the 10th to the 20th century. The style varies from Romanesque and Gothic to Renaissance and Baroque to Modernism. The mirador was particularly striking with the neoclassical statuary set against the Mediterranean background. We had a tour Friday and arrived on the mountain around 10:30 via Bus and Rack Railway (Cremallera)…read morefor the last 10 minutes. You get some breathtaking views as you climb towards 1236 ft. and also experience the railway car that has been around since the 1800s with the original car on display at the station. Once we got to the main area of the mountain, there is quite a bit to do and you can spend a full day if you took the time to take it all in. The jagged rock formations of the mountain range give a few photo ops. The main event was the Basilica/Abbey with the Black Madonna and hearing the Escolania Boys Choir. Peaceful, serene and listening to this choir for a few minutes before bed has to help with insomnia. There are plenty of hiking options with a 15 minute hike to the top for more breathtaking views. Would recommend visiting the museum. Many shopping and food options (Cafes) with our tour guide recommending a Buffet restaurant. I tend to stay away from Buffet spots and should have followed my instincts. It was ok and really was at a disadvantage after the meals we had in Barcelona-stick with the Cafes. Overall, well worth the time and visit!

The church also has a delightful setting, with squares and gardens on three sides. Adjacent to the church, across the road at the west front, is the small but attractive Romanesque funerary chapel of Sant Nicolai, with a classic trefoil-plan apse. It was built at the same time as Sant Pere, and was originally part of the same complex.

There a handful of Picasso Museums around the world, but the one in Barcelona is worth a visit as this was not only the first museum dedicated to Picasso's work, but also the only one created while he was alive. The museum is sectioned off by eras of Picasso's life, starting with his early formal training under his father, Jose Ruiz, at age 7 and his earlier works when his family were his muses. I always knew Picasso was talented, but I had no idea just how truly multifaceted he was. Entry is by timed ticket, and can be reserved for free 4 days before your actual visit between certain hours. NOTE: If you need to use the bathroom, hold on to your ticket--you'll need to scan it for re-entry.

I'll admit, I'm more the type who'd rather wander the streets of Barcelona than hang out in a museum, so I'm probably not the best art critic. But still -- it's Picasso! Totally worth a visit. And the best part? Afterward, I grabbed an amazing lunch of tapas and beers just around the corner. Perfect way to cap off the visit. 5 stars all around, lol.
