A major art museum in Guadalajara, this is a must see. But don't get too excited. Although a world…read moreheritage site, this is not an awe-inspiring museum unless you're a fan of 1930s modernist murals. The main gallery is interesting and reveals a key part of Mexico's history and politics through art. The museum includes several lesser exhibits ranging from modern artists of Mexico to a history of the building. On Tuesdays the museum is free. Time budget: unless you're studying this period of art, budget about an hour for the museum. Misc: (1) If you have a purse or backpack, you will be asked to check it. (2) Normal price for entry is $80 pesos. (3) Restrooms are available without charge in the museum.

Be prepared to check any bag you have no matter what size. I had small cross body bag and was told I needed to check it in. Bag check is free. This is a beautiful building with interesting artwork on the walls and ceilings. Some of the artwork has QR code for you to watch a video in Spanish or English that explains some of the artwork in the main hall. These were informative. Walk around and enjoy some of the smaller art galleries. Some are only in Spanish. Budget no more than 2 hours unless you want to watch every video and read every piece of artwork throughout the facility. Bathrooms: free and clean onsite If you need a snack, head to La Chispita for a great beef and chorizo taco.

We were visiting Guadalajara and stopped by to see what a children's museum is like in Mexico. I…read morelove how there are outdoor vendors with fresh foods and treats in the central courtyard. There are so many wonderful pieces to this museum. Our absolute favorite part was visiting the aquaponics garden and speaking with the woman who volunteers there. She was very kind and knowledgeable about the aquaponics system, explained how the system worked, and pointed out all of the different plants that were growing. This is someone who is making the world a better place. We found some of the interactive classes a bit odd as they are generally closed to visitors unless you sign up for a time slot to participate. I wish we would have had time to experience these. Perhaps they are worth it! There was so much to do and see at the museum. We were sad to see that some of the interactive exhibits were broken, but understand there is not enough funding to fix them. We hope that this beautiful museum will soon get the funding it deserves and the children deserve.

We got to learn the history of tequila, how it was made, and the many different distilleries. It was an eventful, extremely fun, learning tour. The tour guide was amazing! It's kinda hard to find, as there's not many signs to lead you in the right direction/area. In fact several others got lost and we had to return back, once we left post. We registered and they had water and treats to eat. Three of the guys that were going to be on the actual bus was there to greet us at the breakfast set up they had. They were all polite and throughout the entire tour. I was under the impression that we were going to hit up several Tequila plants. But not so. We stopped at one place where they showed us how they manufacture the tequila agave plant. They explained in detail. The only thing it was in Espanol, no english. The next and only stop was Casa Sauza Tequila factory. I thought we were going to stop at 3 Mujeras and other tequila factories but we didn't. Once we walked through Casa Sauza we left the plant. The tour company had us walk 3 blocks back to the bus. Luckily for us the Mexican police had several criminals sprawled up against a wall. To be honest this was quite scary as first off, Tequila Express should have never allowed us tourist, to walk through this dangerous neighborhood. As I mentioned before the 3 servers on the bus were superbly nice. Very generous in giving us water, tequila shots and whatever else we wanted to drink. Certain Tequila is limited so know that. Not sure if it's expensive or not. The bathroom on the bus was out of order. No bueno. You know you're doing a tour, fix them. Please as I understand these buses are run by a certain Tequila Factory but be straight up and say this. It's false advertising in my opinion to only hit up one facility. And for extra pesos you they'll take you to a little town, while others was Mariachi's at the Tequila facility. Oh yeah, a good buffet provided.
