Only one review? Whaaaat? Murray State is awesome. All of the costs are so much cheaper compared to other universities and the rankings convinced me to attend the university. The list honors the top 20 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. The Chronicle of Higher Education named Murray State one of its "2013 Great Colleges to Work For." The designation specifically recognizes MSU for ""Professional/Career Development Programs," "Respect and Appreciation" and "Teaching Environment." What reinforced my decision to attend the university was the amount of staff members who graduated from the University and returned as an employee. I feel that the quality of education is fantastic and that is very important to me. Something that really helps you get started in school is the fact that the bookstore allows you to charge up to 500$ to your student account to buy anything you need- books, backpacks, binders... anything. For like the first couple weeks of every semester. This is AWESOME and EVERY COLLEGE should do it. I live off campus but have friends who love the on campus housing life. The campus is very beautiful and has the big university feel with the small town comfort. Definitely worth the visit if you are considering this college. read more

A great college, I would recommend to anyone. My son picked this college at first because of the location, near fishing and hunting. When we dropped him off he was second guessing and was pretty miserable for the first 3 month being so far from home. He started making friends within 3 months with kids that enjoyed the same interest he had. He LOVED this school and it was the best years of his life. He loved the college, his friends and professors so much that he planned on moving back to Kentucky Murray area one day. He met the love of his life here also and planned on getting married and living in Murray. Sadly he passed away at age 27 and never got the chance to fulfill that dream. If you're considering this school, I give it a BIG YES!!!!!!! read more

If you annually pay the bursar's office the equivalent of a new Camaro SS, then you had better be a fan! You can look elsewhere for the rankings, but from a parent's perspective, it's a fine middle-sized campus, with a pleasant mix of traditional and contemporary buildings, and I feel like my children are receiving a quality education. I would have preferred they enroll as Wolverines, but HEY, I didn't live my father's dream, either. read more

MSU is a great university in a great town. Most of the classes are small which in my opinion is very helpful in comprehension of course materials. Compared to tuition at other universities, they are fairly inexpensive. All of the professors that I have had so far have been very helpful and understanding of the challenges that I face with memory loss from radiation treatment. There Student Disabilities Services center is phenomenal! Without them I don't think I would have been able to pass any of my classes. Otherwise, the classes that I have taken have been challenging and insightful. The professors are professional, but still are friendly. The coursework actually serves a purpose and isn't just busy work. Really the only complaint that I have is the distance I have to walk from the parking lot to my classes. This is trivial compared to everything else though. Thanks MSU! read more
