Horrible horrible service. Will never go back to this restaurant again. Took forever to order our food. Never came back to refill drinks. Took forever for everything. Girls at the front desk playing on their cell phone slumped over and then one of them adjusted her maxi pad. So gross. Prime rib had way to much basil. Crab cakes way overpriced. Don't mind paying more but expect great value and didn't get it. We give this restaurant zero stars. The staff was very unfriendly. Expected better in Prescott. read more

Ok guys and gals. We came for happy hour and the bar was full the game on, great vibe all ready. Oh look a booth is open looks like they just left. Let's stand here, oh we must be wizards the table is now clean and we are seated with our drink and food in before 6, classy feeling fancy. Let's order off the main menu, the custom ordering is great because it comes with surprises, oh I get to order the soup of the day(don't sleep on the soup). We'll have the prime rib, lobster and crab( best crab I've had). Being from Malibu, we love to get the high desert experience, just to be reminded of the greatness of this restaurant. I had just told my favorite person who had the sand to order all this amazing food that this was our favorite restaurant. Mind you she just got off the plane in Prescott from working a long weekend in L.A. to call me out for oysters and martinis. The happy hour is first class, beefeater dirtiest or under $5, mussels with a first class broth, the bread by the way is better than your moms. Our contractor gave us a gift card for Murphy's as a Christmas gift, and it took us quite a while to finally use it. We celebrated our wedding anniversary by visiting Murphy's for the first time, and we decided after our meal that this will be our special occasion celebration dinner place! Everything was incredibly delicious, and the service was amazing. We were offered a complimentary dessert due to our special date, and being indecisive that evening, we chose two-- intending to pay for one of them. They actually gave us both at no charge, which was completely unexpected. We can't wait to go back. read more

My group of friends had a splendid time at Murphy's last night. Our server, Graciela, was terrific. Just the right amount of classy service and fun. Wendy selected a perfect bottle of wine for us and that was only the beginning. From appetizer to dessert, the food was delicious. I had the escargot, chicken tortilla soup, prime rib with lobster tail, and finished off with apple cobbler. We decided to eat here on a whim for our anniversary and totally happy we did!! Matthew treated us like family once we walked thru the door. Gave us our own little corner booth and a happy anniversary card signed by everyone and some chocolates. Autumn was our server and was very attentive. We had the prime rib and coconut shrimp... cooked perfectly and delicious!! Then they surprised us with a creme brûlée for dessert! Wow .. so yummm! Topped off our anniversary day perfectly. We were there 2/13/2021, was busy and we got seated upstairs only to see table sitting in the back where the floor is stained and was not vacuumed. two rib eyes were ordered at our table and were overlooked and tough. I don't normally write reviews, but this experience was just too disappointing. My husband and I were at this place to celebrate our new marriage and we left so disappointed. To start, we didn't get our complementary bread until our entrees came after we asked for it twice. We NEVER got our appetizer and when we pointed it out to the waitress bringing our food she never came back and told us whether or not it was ever coming. We never got it but luckily it didn't end up on the bill. My husband ordered the ribs and they came out cold, and the barbecue sauce appeared to be nothing more than Sweet Baby Ray's. (Which isn't a bad barbecue sauce, but for the price I would have expected something made in house.) As for my meal, I ordered the 12 oz ribeye and got a sirloin. I ordered it medium rare and it came out severely undercooked -- cold in the center. I had to have it sent back to the kitchen to get it to an appropriate temperature. Again, it wasn't even the ribeye I ordered in the first place. My baked potato was also cold. We had to ask for every refill and were rarely checked in with. We were told by our waiter that he also had large a table in the far back of the restaurant, so we don't blame him for his lack of attention, but there were multiple members of the waitstaff who did not seem to care at all as my husband and I sat there and waited for refills, questions answered, etc. The restaurant's form of apology for everything was a slice of chocolate cake that impressed us about as much as the rest of the meal did. I like Murphy's, been there several times and the food has always been good, staff are friendly and efficient, menu is a nice variety and the girl at the bar can pour a nice pint of Guinness! Not everyone can. So why didn't I award 5 stars? The music. Murphy's has an Irish theme so why Jazz? I can't name one Jazz musician that hails from the Emerald Isle. Jazz is an acquired taste, I have never acquired it. I know it has its fans but listening to spiraling horns whilst trying to enjoy a Sunday brunch isn't for me. There's a ton of good Irish music and musicians so perhaps something more in keeping with the theme. read more

I've been to Murphy's a few times for dinners that were supposed to be for "special occasions", and every time, I'm disappointed. I've had drinks made incorrectly, mixed-up side dishes, and meals that were cold/just not good. Their ribs are dry, and the shrimp cocktail is very bad (almost tastes like the shrimp is imitation). The drinks are super underwhelming, as is the food. The atmosphere is really nice, and for the most part so is the staff, so it's disappointing that the rest of the experience is bad. I was hoping that the first time I went was just a one-off bad experience (Tuesday evening, right after COVID restrictions were listed), but the last time was with a group of 8 and was just as bad. It seems like the problem is in the kitchen, because waitstaff is great! However, I will never recommend Murphy's, and I doubt I will ever go back. Disappointing, because it has so much potential. read more

we've been to Murphy's many times but they have really gone downhill lately. both the prime ribs we ordered (each 12 oz) were 50% fat (wish I took photos). I know prime rib can have some fatty parts but to have that much is unacceptable. we've eaten at Harris Ranch many times which is where their meat comes from and have never had this type of experience. also, the meat itself was very chewy. the Mac & Cheese was flavorless (hardly any cheese). to be disappointed after paying several hundreds of dollars for the 4 of us will deter us to from going back. go somewhere else. read more

My husband and I have had many dinners at Murphy's and have never had a bad meal until last night. My husband had the top sirloin, ordered medium but it came out rare. I had the pork chop which was the worst pork chop I have ever had, with some type of awful gravy smothering it. This place is fantastic. It started with Wendy the manager ensuring that everything was perfect for my wife and I's anniversary. We arrived about 30 minutes early and sat at the bar waiting for our reservation drinks were top notch and the bartender was great. We were sat right at 7 and were greeted by no less than 3 employees. The bus boys ensured we had water right away, one of the other managers came and brought bread and offered additional drinks. Our waiter arrive a few minutes later a promptly took our order. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was ice cold and delicious. My wife had the prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes and I had ribeye and baked potato. Both were PERFECTLY cook and delicious. We will be eating at Murphy's again very soon. Great ambiance, and great friendly service from Cassiday . Great drinks too! Riley made my wife the best Pomegranate Martini, while my traditional Martini was perfect as well, with fresh stuffed Blue Cheese olives added to the delight! Appetizers were amazing! The clams and Escargot were to die for ! Unequivocally, the best we've had in recent memory . All of this already setting is up for when we are coming back to experience this again. Dinner did not disappoint with Prime Rib and Scallops. Top it off with a nice bottle of wine and desert and it was a 5 star evening.
