I needed directions to the Cork depot of one of the leading international courier companies…read more Because this company uses a call centre on another continent, I wasn't able to get from the representative there either the specific advice I was looking for or a local telephone number. I rang MBE, whose Golden Pages ad. mentions the courier in question, and got full, concise instructions, and some sympathy for my complaint with the international firm besides. I'll certainly bear them in mind in future on the strength of this generosity. (Don't know about the international concern, though.)

The documents required to sell a home in the USA are very lengthy, complicated and time consuming to complete. I had 38 pages which needed to be notarized that day in order to complete the sale of my home. I walked in off the street with my 38 pages of papers and asked for a notary. I was directed into Clara's office. She took the time required to go over each and every page with me, ensuring that every question was answered correctly. There were many questions that I had no idea how to interpret what the question and answer was. Clara guided me through this challenging process. Once this time consuming process was completed I had to go to an ATM to get money to pay for her services. She told me where the ATM's were and trusted me to come back without leaving anything for collateral. Due to the assistance that I received from Clara I was able to mail off the papers immediately after I left her office which resulted in the sale of my home being finalized. Not only was Clara competent, professional and thorough, she was/is a personable, friendly, authentic person as well. I definitely recommend to this company again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

He's also a savage for the tea, so beware if you invite him in, for he'll eat all you put in front of him and you may be eaten out of house and home. Regarding his products, you can have H.E.3 or H.E.4. There's been stories told of a mythical HE2, and one time, once, some body whispered a HE1 was rumored to have been experimented with in the sixties. However ask Johnny and he will deny all and any such rumors as pointless hearsay for idle fools. Regarding the delivery service, nowadays he uses a red or blue truck, but in his "hay-day" he could be seem parked at many a roadside gap, having the sandwiches in a red opel record 2.0 estate. In fact, so dedicated was he to his trade that he physically grew samples in the back of the car so as potential customers could see first hand and sample the various benefits of each strain before proceeding with the purchase. Having personally been witness to Johnny in action, and seen for myself, many a farmers tears of joy as Johnny showed up with that last minute ordered half acre of grass seed just before the rains came, I can highly recommend Johnny and his business to any and all who have need of his services. Rest assured, any time of day or night, Johnny will be there for you in your time of seed need.

It commemorates four local men killed in the '98 rebellion. It is seen at its best in the Spring and Summer when the flowers are blooming and when families stroll around and the kids play. On the eastern "rampart", the fishermen patiently wait for their catch, really busy only when the mackerel shoals roll in, willing takers of the bait on offer.

RORY GALLAGHER'S GRAVE…read more Rory Gallagher is probably Cork's best known figure internationally and the musician's life is marked by quite a few memorials and plaques around the city. See previous post on his statue in Rory Gallagher Plaza in Paul Street. http://www.qype.co.uk/place/1226575-Rory-Gallagher-Place-Cork?lang=en#review_1195113 His early death caused quite a lot of grief among his fans in the area but at least the music lives on. I saw Rory play in some small venues before he became famous. Quite a few visitors come to check on the places associated with his life and many end up at St Oliver's Graveyard in Carrigrohane, the place where he was buried. Called to St Oliver's myself the other day and you can see my photo attached. St Oliver's is a very large graveyard, with a map on the way in. It is also a lawn graveyard, meaning it is very tidy and graves are easy to find.
