THESE ATTORNEYS ARE UNETHICAL!…read more About a year ago, I loaned a friend $4K to pay this law firm to retain their services after he was arrested on a drug charge. I had to use my debit card to pay the lawyer and was not given any information from the lawyer about what I was actually paying for. My "friend" never paid me back and skipped bail and is now wanted and on the run in another state. In the time since I paid his lawyer he stole from me and caused a lot of other problems for me and I don't want to have any connection to him anymore. I contacted the lawyer and stated the issue clearly and asked if it would be possible to refund the amount I paid. I asked him if he could charge his client (my former "friend") for the retainer, rather than use my funds. The lawyer denied my request, stating that I had paid to retain his services for his client and couldn't request a refund until the case was complete. However, despite claiming that I had paid to retain his services, I was given no paperwork to show what I had paid and I doubt I even have any legal claim to those funds if the case is ever "completed". Is it ethical for a lawyer to keep third party funds as a retainer when I have no desire to fund their clients legal defense in any way? I feel it is completely unethical to make someone pay for the defense of their client who stole from me. What I'm worried about is that if the client dismisses the lawyer that the funds I provided will just be returned to them and not me. I am very low income and this represented a majority of my savings. I am hoping that this law firm will do the right thing and return the money I paid and let their client pay for his own defense!

Attorney Megan McGee represented me throughout a one year, high conflict family court case. During…read moreevery single step of the process she went above and beyond and gave 110%. Her knowledge, expertise, and professionalism is incomparable. She has a passion for the services she provides, and made me feel like my case truly mattered to her. I never once felt like I was "just another case." She took the time to look through extensive documentation and understand both myself and my circumstances on more than just a surface level. She was always professional yet supportive at the same time. Megan made herself highly accessible from day one providing several ways to reach her with an amazing response time. She consistently kept me updated on all aspects of my case, and rarely took longer than a day to respond to every single question I had. She always made me aware if there was even a possibility of a delayed response time. Even throughout her maternity leave she put forth her best effort to assist me. I was never left feeling like I was hanging, alone, or in the dark about anything throughout the entire time we worked together. The technological tools she uses are top-notch and user friendly making every part of the process extremely smooth and efficient. She also provided different options to fit individual needs. I could always count on her to get what needed to be done in more than a timely manner while also paying attention to every detail and leaving nothing out or incomplete. To say Megan is on top of her game is an understatement. Family court is stressful. A high-conflict family court case is extremely stressful. Having Megan as my attorney made this experience as least stressful as possible. I always had complete trust in her work and felt a great sense of ease when handing things over to her. She always put forth her best effort to work toward my goals in the case, but never gave me false hope either. She was always upfront about things that could possibly happen while remaining hopeful and giving everything her best shot. We had several physical court dates. Her professionalism, organization, knowledge, and no-nonsense approach shone through in the courtroom. I truly feel like I grew as a person by working with her. The bottom line, in my opinion, is that Attorney Megan McGee is one of the top in her field in the area. I feel my case may have turned out quite differently if I had worked with anyone else. I would recommend her to anyone any day, and should I find myself needing legal assistance again, I will be contacting Attorney McGee.
