All years again at the beginning of June the GOURMET TRIP FESTIVAL takes place in Styria.
On the 4th of June cooked Alex Theil from Mexico at the castle hotel Gabelhofen.
We had an invitation for this unique dinner and immediately booked a night at the hotel.
I had never visited the wonderful castle in village Fohnsdorf, Styria - seminar hotel, wedding castle, bonnet restaurant, hotel for good sensations and art castle-.
Very well I liked the input area with the adoption and the lobby, the inner courtyard open once was roofed capably with steel and glass.
In the back of the castle a modern part is only of glass, is an art gallery with varying exhibitions and serves as a restaurant in weddings.
Here one has a dream look at the river "Pöls" and the delightfully Aichfeld. The argumentative Therme is to be seen towards nice.
In our visit some pictures were issued by painters from the area and the tables were covered for a wedding taking place the next day, indeed, still without floral decoration.
The garden of the castle is maintained very much and is a cafe beside the input area with at the moment very nicely blossoming rhododendrons.
We had a rather easy however very spacious and quiet room for one night. But there is like I have seen wonderful rooms and even a wedding suite.
The gourmet's dinner took place in the restaurant with nice vault inside of the castle.
There were really very interesting put together 6 current menus, in each case 3 ways of Gastkoch Alex Theil and 3 ways of the fork court-chef Manfred Vogel, everything with wine company.

It has tasted everything very well and to me particularly the delightfully spicy dishes of the cook from Mexico have tasted. He brought supposedly about 60 kg of spices with in Styria, not only for one evening, because on Saturday the gala dinner took place in Graz in the Congress and then there all 6 cooks from Dallas / USA, Palma de Mallorca/ Spain, Copenhagen Denmark, Palmilla/Mexico, Shanghai / China and Moscow / Russia.
