It followed the water until we took an extra snow mobile trail that brought us out into the prairie. The prairie had lot of birds, butterflies, and grasshoppers. Most of the trail was smooth walking with a few areas of rocks and prairie uneven land. Overall it was a nice area. We saw a few people along the way but mostly it was quiet and l peaceful. Nice stop.

Incredibly Disappointed…read more Our family made reservations well in advance for this past weekend in celebration of my Grandmother turning 101. So many family members came together (from multiple states away) for this momentous occasion (around 65 adults/young children). Approximately around 45 minutes after arrival, a male staff member came over seemly very displeased to advise that they only had one waitress on staff for the entire bar + restaurant (as the rest of the staff was on vacation due to Weddings). It was decided that we would all immediately sit so orders could be taken. Some family members even attempting to be helpful and writing the entire tables orders down for the waitress. A couple of family members attempted to assist the waitress and helped to bring waters to the tables. While it was somewhat understandable that food would take some time for a large party like ours, we had several having to ask about their orders after a couple hours, with 8 leaving having never received their food. We started around 430pm and leaving around 9pm. I truly felt for our waitress (Judy R?) as we understand this is not a reflection upon her but a very HUGE issue with management. As we were wrapping up there was yet another dinner party arriving - sad to have to forewarn for disappointment. It's classic curved roof, wood structure with ample seating on both sides including back rests on many seats! The second rink is perfectly functional. Oak Summit is right off the highway and next to the lightly-trafficked Rochester airport. Full disclosure: I didn't actually play a full game of golf here. I came for the driving range. I'm an amateur still trying to figure out my swing, and I'm not quite ready to join the big boys out on the course. Judging by how I did on the range, it might be a while before I write you all a review of the course proper--I've got a lot of work to do. On first impression, though, the course is very nice. There's a ton of diverse foliage on the course (I think that's the first time I've used the word "foliage" in a review) and some nice ponds and such. Oh, I can't wait until I can actually "play" golf to get out there on this course! So, the range. I'm not sure if other places have this sort of setup (I've only been to a few ranges), but it's terraced. There's a section to hit balls from, and then 5 feet ahead there is a steep drop and another area to shoot from. There were only a few people here this day, and they were all on the upper section. Good thing nobody was shooting from the lower section, because some of my balls ended up there (oops!). It's a really beautiful driving range they have here. Most places just have a flat field with tacky signs marking different distances, but this one was filled with undulating hills (and, again, tons of trees surrounding it!). Well, I guess that's all I can say about the driving range. It's pretty nice. Inside, they have a small "bar" (although it's more like some seats and a few bottles of liquor on the counter, along with a couple of types of beer to choose from). Range tokens were reasonably-priced (I don't remember any exact prices, but it was on par (pun intended) with other places I've been to). I really like the driving range and can't wait to play the course!
