As Suzie G. said, even window shopping here is pleasant - if you happen to walk by when they are closed for siesta. I left with wooden paella spoons, little candied orange slices, and a porron (which I learned from my Valencia Tapas Tour is a dessert wine pitcher used at parties). I also had my eye on the black porcelain sparrows, which I learned is a typical Valencian house warming gift. Definitely worth a visit for a gift to take home or give to your host. Everything is decently priced with many things being under a couple euros - but be forewarned, they wouldn't accept my €50.

They also have a Zara mens downstairs so check that out. In the city centre, they have a Zara home collection, which I wished I went into but I saw it passing on my bus ride home. Zara's offers different things with a classics and new age twist. They are afforable but there are other stores that are cheaper, but if you are looking for something different to bring home, Zara's if definitely your shop!

I was going to the aquarium but decided to go inside the shopping mall to enjoy some ac and buy some water. There are lots of stores such as Zara. Make sure you check out Carrefour. It is huge! The selection of ham and cheese is great- it took me a long time to decide what I wanted. Carrefour also has a cafe- I got an empadana there. There are many taxis outside the mall, so that you can easily lug back all your shopping.

Spanish people like to take their time while they get together, it's just a nice social thing to do. The Colón Market was designed by the architect Francisco Mora Berenguer in the early 20th century, making it one of the most iconic examples of Valencian art nouveau, which has certain features that recall Gaudí's buildings in Barcelona. The structure has been listed as a National Monument. The large building is divided into three sections, enclosed at either end by two brick and stone entrances in the style of triumphal arches. The colorful façade is highly decorative, with the ceramic details typical of the region. An artistic wrought iron fence surrounds the premises. All these features have been painstaking restored. Today, the height of its ceiling and numerous entrances make the market a bright, open space. Built to cater to the upper class of the period, it is in fact still located in one of the areas with the highest purchasing power in the city, the Ensanche. Every day it receives numerous visitors, who come to pass the time at its outdoor cafés.
