Unfortunately, hazardous materials were only accepted on weekends so this wasn't entirely convenient during a move. The signage is easy for the most part and the area is very well maintained and quite large. The staff aren't very helpful or friendly, at least not when I visited. Thankfully I had my friend with me to help out. This location was exactly what I needed to get rid of undonatable items.

They found this place which takes all those items. Anything that you can't put out for regular garbage pickup can be thrown away here. They even take food scraps for composting, shoes & clothes. You have to show ID to prove that you are a resident and it's FREE! The first time you come, it's a little confusing where you have to go to dispose of your items, but the staff will let you know if you're throwing things in the wrong bin and will direct you to where you need to go.

If you are bringing computers, you will earn more if you separate the motherboard, hard drive, etc. Check their hours on the website before going since they do not match what is on google maps. We went on a Saturday (hours: 8 am-12 pm) and it was busy. I assume it would be less busy during the week. Most employees interacting with customers are wearing masks but not all of them. Great customer service in person and via email. They are quick to answer questions via email. Their website is easy to read, detailed, and up to date. We recommend this recycling center to others and would recycle here again!

When I moved out of my house, I closed my account. Earlier this year, when a new person moved into that house, the new tenant was able to re-open my account and start charging my credit card for their trash service. At my new house, the trash company I was using was bought by Liberty and I was not interested in continuing with service because of these experiences. I tried to close my account at the beginning of September BEFORE there had even been a trash pickup and they told me that they were legally required to charge me for the full month of September. Avoid this company, there are so many local trash subscriptions that don't treat you like a number and who take your privacy seriously.

Quite convenient to have a service like this, although it'd be nice if the town of Cary would just pick up my extra recycling that doesn't fit in my bin instead of making me drive to this convenience center... anyway. Overall, no complaints!

And once you've accomplished that, there's something even more satisfying in recycling the things in which it was packed. Cary's recycling center will take nearly everything: cardboard, books, glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, pots, pans, even furniture and yard waste, but not plastic bags. There are a few restrictions though, so check the city's website to be sure. Offloading an old computer, or any other electronics, will cost you a few dollars, but otherwise, there is no fee. As I enter the gate, a friendly employee will stop and ask what I'm dropping off, then direct me to the appropriate bins. Sometimes, late in the afternoon, it's difficult to find a spot in any of the three or so containers for cardboard boxes, but at least I know there are others making use of this resource. It may sound odd for an outdoor recycling center, but this location is kept pretty clean by both the City and the residents who drop things off which makes it even easier to keep coming back.

When the Covid shutdown took place, we had just taken down a tree in our yard. Like many Raleigh…read morefolks, we have been spending more time pruning and cleaning our yard. We were lucky to find Rowland to drop off our yard waste. It's easy and reminds me of a bye-gone era business. You pull up to a small building where you pay by size of your load ($25 for a pickup truck). We paid through a window and never stepped in a building. Then we took the truck up the hill to a huge pile of yard waste where we easily chucked it into the pile. I can imagine it would be enjoyable for little ones to ride along because there are lots of heavy machines doing work and mulch being made on site. I actually came here looking for their hours- wish they were posted online somewhere but I can't locate them.

He told me he had it, but instead of lifting it, he scraped it across my truck and left a huge scratch. What is most disappointing is that they showed no concern for the damage and simply said they were not liable. We are not asking them to pay for or repair the scratch--we just expected them to at least take responsibility and speak with the employee about being more careful with customers' vehicles. We have never had an issue like this at TT&E, and after this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere and continuing to use TT&E instead. Customers' property should be treated with care and respect.

My experience with Always Buying Scrap Inc. was extremely unprofessional…read more I called to ask about selling catalytic converters and was immediately treated like a scammer. The woman on the phone started asking a series of questions about "paperwork," who I worked for, and whether I was a mechanic shop instead of simply answering a basic pricing inquiry. A few minutes later, my father called and asked to speak with a manager. Despite previously being told that a price could be given with the serial number, the manager spoke very quickly, in a confusing and roundabout manner, and continued treating my father like he was doing something wrong simply for asking about pricing. At most other scrap yards or catalytic converter buyers, you can provide the serial number or send photos by text or email and receive a general price estimate. That's standard practice in the industry. Instead, we were essentially told we would need to drive all the way there just to inquire about value, only to be casually told it might be worth around $100. This is not how professional businesses treat potential customers. The communication was dismissive, unhelpful, and unnecessarily suspicious. I would strongly recommend other sellers call around before dealing with this company.
