I had eye surgery on my left eye on the 19th of July, 2022. It was completely painless. As anyone would suspect, I was a little anxious when I went in. His staff was so wonderful. There is just no way to explain how kindly they treated me and help me to calm down. I hate needles as every one does, but I did not even feel the little butterfly needle they put in my arm. There was no pain whatsoever during the surgery. I had a gauze patch on my eye when I left. I kept waiting for the anesthesia to wear off and the pain to come to my eye. I waited and waited. I thought that surely the next day after I had slept the anesthesia would be worn off by the time I woke up. I waited and waited. NO PAIN. I have yet to feel the first pain from the surgery. Dr. Mulaney himself called me the night of the surgery to see how I was doing. Never ever had a doctor done that before. Wednesday and Thursday afternoon after the surgery a nurse called me also to see if there was any pains or problems that I was having. Have you ever had a doctor call you after you got home from a surgery. He truly is a caring and wonderful, not just professional, but a caring person. I cannot say enough about Dr. Mulaney himself. He is a true professional and highly ranked eye surgeon here in the United States. He is compassionate, efficient and skillful. I now can see so well after the left eye surgery and have had no pain, that I am excited and hoping to have the right eye done soon. It was so easy I wish that I could have it done tomorrow. I can see colors and thing with my left eye now that, the only problem with that Eye is that I can actually SEE the DUST in places I have never been able to see before. Thank you Dr. Mulaney and Staff for changing my life so that I can see colors and print so easily as I use to read constantly and can now go back to one of the joys in my life of reading whenever I want. My experience as a patient of Dr. Mulaney I am very happy to write this review of excellent patient experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Mulaney since summer of 2024. I needed cataract surgeries for both my eyes. Prior to surgery my symptoms were poor vision at night, glare while driving in the evening, diminished vision in both eyes during daytime. I wore reading glasses with power of 2.0 or higher and I had corrective lenses for astigmatism. I made an appointment to see him for evaluation. I had great care in outpatient as well as in surgery. Outpatient clinic: I was very impressed by the efficiency of his staff. My calls were answered at the first ring! The reception staff is prompt and efficient. The support staff who assist in evaluation are well trained and efficient. My visit with the doctor was very informative. He explained everything in detail and laid out plans for my options. I decided to schedule cataract surgery with lens implant for both eyes 4 weeks apart. Experience of surgery: The surgical procedure went like well-orchestrated theatre performance. I had clear written and verbal instructions for preoperative care and postoperative care. The staff at the surgery center was very professional, kind, caring and efficient. Everyone in the team knew what needs to be done. The surgical procedure was nearly painless and smooth. When the dressing was removed the next day, I noticed marked difference in the vision right away. The vision progressively improved Now that I have both eyes done, I am able to see 20/20 in both eyes and I do not need any reading glasses! In my opinion, this was a great experience. My son had seen Dr Mulaney for Years, so when I needed an eye exam I visited Dr Mulaney. After a thorough examination, he determined that I needed cataract surgery. I had been using 350 readers for quite a while, but in Las Vegas my eye doctor said my cataracts were small and I didn't need the surgery yet. But it was so frustrating because I could not read price tags at the store, menu's or magazines without my readers. Dr Mulaney was such a breath of fresh air. I recently visited Dr. Mulaney and found the experience to be disappointing. Despite holding a PhD myself, I felt that Dr. Mulaney treated me in a condescending manner, which was both unprofessional and disheartening. I am concerned about how patients without a similar level of education may be treated. Additionally, the pace of the office was noticeably slow, contributing to a less-than-ideal experience.
