One of my favorite go-to spots in K-Town. The soju drinks here are so yummy and they have really unique flavors for their cocktails such as watermelon, yuzu, and yakult. They are open late and typically normally have tables readily available at night so I love coming here with friends to chill and enjoy drinks/food. Everything in K-Town is obviously going to be overpriced but it's not too bad here compared to other spots. DRINKS: If you want something stronger, get a Soju Cocktail carafe ($26)! It comes in a pretty big size and is shareable with friends. The watermelon flavor is refreshing but I would highly recommend the YUZU as it is such a unique offering that other soju bars don't typically have. If you want something super tasty and delicious, get the MAKGEOLLI!!! The YUZU makgeolli here is unreal-- sweet, creamy, and tangy yet refreshing from the fresh tart citrus yuzu. This one also comes in a shareable pitcher and is always the favorite of all my friends that come here with me. Literally the only alcoholic drink I even find myself craving sometimes and I hate alcohol......... that's how good it is. Definitely recommend this one if you don't typically like the taste of alcohol / soju or stronger drinks. This one is pure delicious lightness (makes sense since it's also pretty low in alcoholic content haha). FOOD: Nothing amazing but solid and will satisfy any Korean cravings you have while drinking! I really like the spicy rice cakes because there are so many fish cake pieces in the dish. Army stew is also huge and good for sharing with friends. Service is always fast and attentive + kind! One of my go-to pochas in Ktown! I think they just redid their decor so it's just a nicer looking place than pocha 32, itaewon, and ktown pocha but it's up to whether you want a more rustic or upscale vibe. I would probably say it's a little less nice looking than Soju Haus but closer to that level. I came here earlier this Fall and it was easy to talk to friends for dinner on a Friday night. This past Saturday night (7 pm) though the music was blaring and it was hard to hear my friends. It seems like a really nice place to pregame with friends before going out though and I like that it's a little less crowded than the other pochas in Ktown (probably cause it's on the 5th floor). I feel like their food is pretty typical for a pocha, I ordered the budae jigae and grilled porked belly and both were pretty good. I would recommend making a reservation through Yelp because you don't want to be waiting on lines outside now that it's getting cold again. read more

Overall: The food was good and flavorful. I would come here again. Things I would get again: Seafood Stew (4/5) - Had a good amount of seafood and the seafood flavor in the broth was actually strong. It didn't have an overwhelming spicy taste. Pork Knuckle (4/5) - The marinate was pretty good but could have had a bit more flavor. The meat to fat ratio was also good. There were some pieces in the end that were just fat and skin but that's expected. The sauce on the side was really good. Made a reservation for 10 people at 6 PM but when we arrived, only one of the staff knew and no table was prepared that would fit all of us...The restaurant was also empty at that time. I come here pretty often because it's an easy spot in Ktown to eat and drink. Usually it's really empty on the weekdays but it can get pretty packed on Friday and Saturday nights. The food isn't anything crazy special, but again, it's a nice comfortable spot to come eat and drink with a few friends. They have a lot of large tables that can fit many people. I came here with some 10 people once and they were able to accommodate without reservation quite easily. The one thing that bothers me about this place is that the bathroom stall is really cramped. I'm not even that tall of a person but the bathroom feels super tiny. I wish it was a bit bigger esp when you are a bit tipsy it's hard to really maneuver your way without touching any walls of the stall. Otherwise, I don't really have much to say about this place. Yummy Korean food in the heart of K-Town. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions are very generous. Happy hour is 5:30 to 8:30 from Sunday through Wednesday, and 5:30 to 7:30 from Thursday through Saturday. You get 30% off your ENTIRE bill! And yes, this includes alcohol. A friend and I came in at around 7 on a Thursday and the place was pretty empty. Maybe it's more popular as a lounge later on than it is a dinner spot in the evening. Either way, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we definitely over-ordered that night. Here's what we had: Watermelon soju - meh. Although it was refreshing, there was very little soju in there. You can skip it. Or another idea - order this and an extra soju on the side. Fried chicken wings - the wings were nicely fried but I wish it came with some sort of dipping sauce on the side. It was lacking flavor. It comes with a side salad so you don't feel as bad for stuffing your face with greasy food. Spicy tuna onigiri - this was good except it was SUPER spicy. I was literally chugging water and watermelon soju just to put out the fire in my mouth. I could't even finish it. It would have been good if they toned down the heat a bit. Alien roll (soft shell crab tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, and teriyaki sauce) - this had way too much rice, which was mushy. It also had this sour taste to it. Not sour like it had gone bad, but more like they had used too much rice vinegar in it. You should definitely avoid this roll. (and I'm assuming their other rolls aren't much better) Spicy rice cake with seafood and cheese - I really liked this. We asked them to make it less spicy since my friend can't handle it. When it showed up, it looked like it was going to be super spicy, but it actually wasn't. It could have used some more cheese and fish cake but other than that, I would definitely order this again the next time I go. read more

The food is really good here. We ordered spicy rice cakes, corn cheese, and pork belly. We felt that the corn cheese should have been heated more because the cheese wasn't really fully melted but it still tasted good. The food came out fast and so did the drinks. We ordered the cherry blossom cocktail, lychee martini, and lychee soju. The cherry blossom cocktail was really sweet and masked the taste of alcohol really well and the lychee soju was good. The lychee martini was okay. It is a bit pricey but during happy hour, they take 30% off your total bill (including the alc) if you pay with CASH. Knocked off a star because they charged us full price and it was only after we pointed out that it was happy hour that they offered to reprint the bill. read more

This place is a great hidden spot for some creative drinks and Anju! I really like the honey and lemon beers they have. You can choose to have it with Blue Moon, Asahi, or Guinness. It adds a really nice light fruity sweetness. I looked over the menu and they had a lot of creative Anju options. Had I been hungrier I would have definitely explored more. We did get the Dry Anju. I don't think I would get it again. Very expensive for what came out. ALOT of raisins and nuts, a small amount of squid and some stale chips. I like the ambiance. The place feels very tucked away from the hustle and bustle of K-town. I could have a conversation with my friend and still hear her. What we didn't like was the décor. The wood and ropes were a nice touch but the neon green lights were confusing. I would come back here for a drink or two. read more

I recently visited MUI for Happy Hour *DRINKS ONLY*, given that they had such an amazing deal; if you paid cash, you received 30% off, and if you paid by credit card, the discount was 20% off.  These reductions applied to anything on the menu, so, regardless of your payment method, it was worth a visit.   I was thankful that I had paid close enough attention to the address to notice that the bar was located on the 5th floor of the building, making it easier to spot from the street.  The elevator was extremely small and tight, but it was a quick ride up to the space.  The bar was fully stocked, with alcohols ranging from Japanese Whiskey to the Italian favorite, Aperol.  Despite the small number of customers and vast liquor selection, we noticed that many of the cocktails had been pre-made, which might have been an unnecessary timesaver for the staff, but was also a big turn-off to us.  My gin cocktail included real ginger and cucumber, but the previously mixed concoction was simply poured into a glass from a singular bottle of booze that had the other ingredients swimming around in it already.  While the drink was reasonably balanced, it was a tad too sweet, making me think that there was either an abundance of simple syrup or lemon-lime soda within it.  My boyfriend's MUI Old Fashioned was similarly sweet and included cheap maraschino cherries, a pet peeve of his.  Since we paid cash and received 30% off our bill, we were not going to complain about the mediocre drinks, but we would certainly not go back to pay the typical $15 price point for them.  Again, this review is based solely on the drinks, so their Korean bar fare might be worth giving a shot. read more

Wow to MUI. Cozy and tasty and booze bar place. It's a bar, it's a restaurant. It's a place that you won't leave until you are high and full. The French chips are hot and crispy, like their ranch-like sauce. The sweet and spicy chicken was very delicious, and they put rice cake in it! Nailed it. Also love the topping sweet potato chips! Crispy! Oh the chicken is soft but taste. The assorted fish cake stew was my friend's favorite. The soup! Not very sticky kind of soup but really flavorful! We ordered two drinks, pomegranate soju was sweet and with more alcohol tasty, love it a lot. And the Yuzu rice wine was very light and suit for girls. All in all, love this place! read more

I wish I had grabbed a picture, but I visited Mui for the first time in YEARS today. I used to go all the time when I was in college and made a point to bring visiting friends their to introduce them to soju. So, when a friend stopped in town and asked to get so soju, I said bet. Took them to Mui in hopes that it was as good as I remembered and they did NOT disappoint. I ordered my go to- their watermelon soju, which everyone adored. The bartender and I talked about the popsicle cocktails they used to serve (and agreed they should bring them back in the summer) and she had us try the lychee soju which WOW what was I sleeping on! So good. Mui is a wonderfully chill spot in the middle of chaotic mid town and especially chaotic ktown, even on club nights, and their fruit soju is miles above the rest on the strip. They use legitimately fresh fruit with pulp and the like, and the soju itself is high quality. I cannot recommend them enough, please stop in and give the your business. read more
