We are visiting Bowling Green for just two days and already feel the reach and importance of the public library. Saturday morning we were at the SoKY IceRink seasonally opened at the Farmers Market. Your library card will earn you a $2 discount. Story hour sponsored by the library is also offered at the IceRink twice a week. Saturday evening we celebrated the Winter Solstice at the Capitol Arts Center at the 2nd Annual Music for the Solstice: a Celtic Celebration. This impressive concert with poetry readings and vocalist sprinkled in was sponsored by the Warren County Public Library. Thanks! I can only imagine what else this library offers the community. Today's front page newspaper headline was about the Main Library Renovation plans. Sounds like even better things are in store for that place with a lot of great books.

Some of the DVDs are the latest DVDs set out in RedBox except they are free to check out. The library book selection is not so big, but I have no complaints. I am very happy with this library. I love watching Japanese anime and horror movies. One of the perks of this library is the free books and items at the entrance. They, also, have lots of fun and free activities for children. I don't have children, yet I think parents should take advantage of such services!

The library is still full of magnificent stories that can't be fully experienced through the immediate reception provided by the internet. Believe me, you're in for happy book exploring! As for this library, I spent about two unexpected hours here while waiting for my husband to get out of a meeting. It's an older building, but they've done a great job keeping up with the times. There's a space for computer use, a children's corridor with rocking chairs, and an area for video/dvd rental. As far as libraries go it's very quaint and has all the things you need - including very helpful staff right at the front desk.

The library itself is set up nicely and has several comfortable areas to set up a laptop and knock out paperwork. Or, if I don't feel like taking in my laptop there are plenty of open library computers to use. The biggest thing I appreciate is that this place is clean. It's such a relief to have a nice place to work if I have some extra time on my hands in Rockport!

The whole design…read morefeels very sleek and modern; the designers and architects obviously put a lot of time into this and attention to detail. It feels spacious and open. Personally when I go to a library I prefer to look for a nook/cranny that I can snuggle up in with my books and laptop. This library does not really offer that. It has some tables to sit at, but each floor is just one giant room, and the sound from the other side of the library can carry all the way over to you. The children's area is not separated from the rest of the library, which I think was a mistake. Aside from my personal preferences, this is a beautiful, up to date library that is a great asset to Daviess County and surrounding counties.

Wow! The Willard Library is Indiana's OLDEST library, and it's everything it lives up to be for an…read moreold, creaky library. It's quiet and filled with ghost stories of the old Grey Lady. There are even ghost cams in the library that can be viewed online 24/7. We only knew about these stories after we visited, but it's a big part of the Willard Library story. It's a gorgeous 19th-century building that is on the national registry of historic places. The woodwork and staircase are detailed, and if you are into history and architecture, you'll enjoy a visit here. The 2nd level is devoted entirely to genealogy. Willard was a well-known abolitionist and his collection of anti-slavery books are featured in a bookcase on the stairwell.
