I have been a loyal client of this animal hospital for over 20 years, trusting them with the care of our multiple pets throughout the years. But today, I was deeply disappointed by how my sick dog and I were treated. I took my dog Hunter with severe diarrhea and despite the urgency and the decades of loyalty I've shown, I was told they wouldn't see him because they "don't take emergencies." There was no effort to assess the situation, no compassion, and just a cold referral elsewhere. I'm sure it didn't go past beyond the reception desk, because I wasn't able to talk to any vet, but it was still disappointing in a moment of stress and worry. I wasn't asking for special treatment--I was asking for help from a place I thought cared about its patients. I understand policies and limitations, but to turn away a sick animal, who is already there, especially one they've treated for years, is unacceptable. Emergencies don't happen on a schedule. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to even try to help was shocking. Over the last 20 years, we've trusted them with the care of every animal we've had--spending THOUSANDS of dollars on routine visits, medications, surgeries, and treatments. We never hesitated because we believed they truly cared. After two decades, I will no longer be bringing my three pups here. They've never had a problem taking my money but if you're looking for a place that will be there when it really matters--this isn't it. read more

If you want a caring, knowledgeable and funny vet do like I did and make an appointment with Dr. Emilio Zouian (I always mess up the spelling, just ask for Dr. Z) for my fur child. They've been my Luna's vet going on eight years and whenever she's been a furry vacuum cleaner and eats something she shouldn't they always patch her up right or when she has had something more serious. The other partner, Dr. Adriana Martinez, has also attended Luna (she seems to handle mostly the morning, and Dr. Emilio the afternoon shift) and has been just as caring and knowledgeable with my princess. In addition to an in house digital x-ray machine and basic blood work, they also send out doggie allergy tests which helped us find the right food for her. They also have electronic medical records, just like with people. I also appreciate the fact they're open late (until about 7 on weekdays and 1pm Saturday) and don't usually charge boarding if she's being checked. The doctors are absolutely phenomenal, but unfortunately the service at the front desk station was absolutely awful. Everyone seemed very sweet but they were doing a lot of talking/playing around instead of attending to the other paying customers, and one had to exit to answer a phone call all while I was waiting for over 45 mins just to pay my bill. First visit to this clinic was positive. We were referred by a friend who highly rated them. First experience in the lobby reminded me of an old school clinic so I felt they were more focused on the pet care. They were able to see Romeo after some time and checked him out. Dr Emilio was great. He did a thorough job on evaluating Romeo, seemed to really care. Although he could not help him, he referred me to a larger facility to get X-rays for my XXL dog. The staff were helpful, Emilio 's assistant, a nice young man, was very helpful. Will definitely be seeing them again in the future. read more

I have been taking my dog to the Pines West VCA for a couple years now and was happy with them up until a recent issue. Monday morning I wake up to find my dog experiencing a vaginal discharge of bloody pus. Along with that, she was displaying symptoms of pyometra, a common urgent condition that requires emergency surgery. I called the Pines VCA right when they opened around 7am and expressed my concerns that she most likely has pyometra. They told me they were fully booked and I could drop her off and they would meet with me virtually when they got the time to check her out. I asked if they would be able to do the surgery if she did have pyometra and she replied "no, you would need to pick her up and take her elsewhere". She then referred me to the Silver Lakes VCA. The Silver Lakes VCA said the same thing and referred me to the Weston VCA. The Weston VCA repeated the same thing and referred me to the Hollywood VCA which is the "24 hour EMERGENCY" VCA and they too could not perform the surgery and told me to try elsewhere! Mind you, they are all Animal Hospitals that have the capability to perform this common procedure. This was not after hours. How is it that the entire local area of VCA Animal Hospitals cannot take care of a clients pet in need?? My cousin recommended Mueller Animal Hospital. I called and left a message and they called me back immediately. I explained the situation and they told me to bring her asap. Their staff is amazing. Once we got in the exam room, it was literally like being treated like a family member. I had never stepped foot in their establishment and they treated my pet as if she was their responsibility. They explained the process and performed the surgery within a few hours. When I arrived to pick her up the surgeon sat with me and explained the surgery that took place. I will be a walking advertisement for Mueller Animal Hospital going forward. They are truly amazing!! read more

Like many businesses, the office staff seems to have a high turnover the last few years so calling in is a bit stressful as you are just a "number", but once you get to see the vet, your animal's health and well-being are their upmost priority. This office is just amazing. Yes, it does sometimes take a while to get your doggie in. But once inside, the staff is super caring. I had my dog go on and she had to stay for a while for an IV. The staff called and updated and let me see her. The vet called me directly as well. A week later they called to check in my Khloe. Cannot recommend enough, very happy to go there. Plus, my little chihuahua likes them as well as my cheeweenie, which says a lot. read more

I've been going to this veterinarian for over 20 years and even when I moved to Broward once, I still took the 40 mile trip to see her to save my cat, Frankie, from a serious sinus infection... I thought for sure he wasn't going to make it but she worked, what I can only describe as magic, and here he is 5 years later, healthy as can be Her prices are reasonable, but anyway what kind of price would be too high to make SURE your dog or cat comes home with you.. all better. Decided to do a review before the service received. Because I believe that an appointment should be time honored. Usually they tell you to never wait more than 20 minutes for an interview or a meeting. What makes medical professionals think their clients time is not valuable to the client. And to add injury to insult they charge you an arm and leg. Been waiting for an hour and a half so far and not sure who's next because there does not seem to be any protocol I accordance with arrivals. The place was recommended by a friend as good. I called and explained over the phone what was wrong with my dog. They told mr to bring my dog in for an appointment. After 1 1/2 in traffic with a very sick dog, they told me, "the doctor leaves in an hour, we can't treat your dog. Go find an emergency clinic that is open late." Been going for 3 going for 3yrs . They are never on time.... even when u make a appt and show up early and arent a new client... always late. My appt today was at 6:30 , arrived 5 mins early. At 7pm they moved me to another room, mind you I was the only one waiting in the lobby. At 7:25pm they came into the room. We took our cat, who is less than a year old, to get spayed. The experience, even during a pandemic, was less than mediocre. The staff and doctor were not very professional and they were very aggressive with her. She is usually a very quiet cat, she does her aggressive when people grab her in a really rough way. As a vet clinic, they should know how to handle all animals or at least ask if our animal is aggressive in any way. They were just extremely rough with her and grabbed her in a way that made her angry. As I said, my cat is not an angry animal. Then when they spayed her, they cut the tip of her ear. Which I've had indoor cats and they've never had their ears clipped after being spayed. Regardless, the war they clipped is now turning purple almost two and a half weeks later and it has pieces of skin scabbing over on top that looks like it's been cut horribly. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. I wish I had known this before taking her to this vet simply for it being close to my home. read more

I've been going to Mueller for almost a year now and at first, I was very pleased. I rushed my dog in and turned out she needed a surgery. The surgery went well and my dog recovered great. However, it wasn't until now that I realized what kind of service they really provide. They do not tell you how serious your dog's condition really is. In February, my 12-year-old dog was diagnosed with bronchitis, which is livable as long as it's managed with diet and medications. A few months later, her cough came back really bad and they gave her a shot and gave me meds and sent me off. My dog did get better until a few weeks ago that her cough came back even stronger despite medicine, putting on a vick's humidifier for my dog all night, etc. On 9/20, I again had to rush my dog in and after performing x-rays, they told me she has a collapsed trachea (in really, really nice terms basically) and that "with medicine, it will open naturally and to give it 2-3 days for it to start opening" and that "she will need to be on medication the rest of her life, that it's livable and that the medication over time will help as long as I don't ever stop medication because then it will be a crisis." I specifically asked if there's anything else I can do other than the medicine and the humidifier and she said "no, that was it." I asked how long she can live with this condition and she said my dog already passed the typical age for her breed but did not tell me exactly how much life my dog has left! A week later (9/27) I go back for my follow up, I tell them the cough is a little better (which it was) and she said okay, continue the medicine. Again, I am under the impression my dog's condition just needs time and medicine. Then 3 days later the cough comes back even worse! She's on 4 pills a day, 2 every 12 hours how is that possible? It only got even progressively worse and I don't understand how if the vet told me she would get even better. Sunday night (10/02) (12 days since I took her to mueller), I rush my dog to a 24/7 animal hospital and they performed digital x-ray (Mueller still has outdated version) and told me my dog's trachea is really collapsed and that I have to face the fact I will need to put her down really soon or she will suffocate due to the collapsed trachea. They gave me stronger medicine to help alleviate the pain and make her comfortable before I must put her down. They gave me much more advice on her to alleviate her symptoms and other things I can do. They even told me the medicine Mueller gave me is the equivalent of Robitussin, so I wasn't even getting the strongest medicine possible for my dog! I don't understand why Mueller wouldn't tell me how serious the matter really was. They write in their charts "prognosis is poor" but to your face it's not. I just wish I knew over 2 weeks ago just how bad my dog's condition really was and why they would lie and say meds will open it up when the vet at the animal hospital said medicine will not open it up and but only alleviate it. Why they didn't give me better advice or anything. Either the vet is not aware of the condition that well (which I doubt) or they just don't want to tell you how bad your pet's condition really is and I don't know why. Just don't bother going to them and go somewhere else so you don't need to waste extra money getting a second opinion and lose time you could spend with your pet before having to deal with the idea of putting them down. Because in 12 days I went from "medicine will help, give it time" to "you need to put her down" and I don't think that's right. * The vet was Martinez. STAY AWAY! read more

My dog is like a family member to us and let me tell you I was very impressed in how clean she was when I got her and she wasn't even shaking like she has done in the past in other boarding places . First impression - not good. Dirty floor and unorganized waiting room. Then they put you in a small room to wait again. The doctor came and the assistant acted like he has never touched a dog before and was definitely not pet friendly. He would grab the dog to make him scared and when it was time to weight him he wouldn't normally lift him on the scale no he would drag him up and say "that's what harnesses are for" .. Very nice animal hospital, gotta say. Not crazy about their prices on the heartgard medications, but what can you do. However, they are cheaper than some other money hungry animal clinics. So...it could be worse. The employees in general are nice. The doctor is very kind to most of the animals as far as I have observed. The waiting room is a bit small though. It can get very cramped very fast. That really needs some attention because sometimes there are just too many animals and not enough space. So, if you get a feisty dog in the room, be prepared to be as patient as you've ever been or ever expect to be. The parking is very accommodating and the location is pretty accessible from just about anywhere. read more

Very sad to say , been taking my dog for many years to this place. Recently I went because my dog was not eating and was lethargic. I was quickly turned way , doc never came out to see my dog . Was just told me receptionist that I needed to go to the other facilities they recommend in the case my dog needed 24 hour care with IV. I was referred to Mueller's by a family friend after horrible service and an extremely bad gut feeling at Panda Animal Clinic. I have a miniature Bull Terrier who had had started getting random symptoms which including vomiting and diarrhea, after horrible experiences at Panda which I won't even discuss I came here and met with Dr. Natalie Gutierrez. She was immediately friendly and caring towards my Bully and she was able to figure out he has IBD and ever since as been an amazing vet to our little boy. Everyone at Mueller's is friendly and helpful. I have no complaints and I'm happy that Jackson, my bully, is receiving the best care. read more

This is the worst experience I have every had. Stay away from this place! It is dirty. I don't know if they care about animals at all because I didn't feel compassion from the professions there! I paid a large amount of money for my dog to have surgery. I honestly felt that they only cared about the money and not my dog because I felt 0 compassion for all the suffering my dog went through. For me the amount was definitely too much but I decided to do it. These people are extremely expensive! They gave me hope that my dog could live. Run don't walk. The vets are too busy to give your dog the proper care. They basically killed my dog and if I could sue for malpractice I would. If you love your pet do not trust their care with this vet. My dog was a patient of Dr. Lopez for years. She was finally diagnosed with cushing's disease this past November which is a treatable disease, if treated properly. Upon diagnosis. Dr. Lopez prescribed 10 mg of vetoryl to be given once a day and sent us on our way. At no point did she explain how dangerous the medication was, that the medication could be fatal, that medicine was not necessarily a cure but just for maintenance. Just here give her this, she will get better. My dog died from the medication which the doctor and her office kept dispensing every month without a follow up or additional bloodwork. The hospital I took her to when she was dying told me that in order to dispense that medication bloodwork has to be done every two weeks, then once a month and then every three months. It is almost as poisonous and strong as putting your dog on chemo. Mueller animal hospital did not follow the proper protocol in dispensing and monitoring the medication and my dog died. Go somewhere else where the vets have more time to thoroughly and properly treat your pet and have knowledge of the dangerous medications thy are prescribing. I called the manufacturer of the medication who stated that in no way should this medicine be prescribed without follow up bloodwork as it can kill your dog and it did. They prescribed it like it was an antibiotic. Complete and utter negligence. read more
