My wife and I used this station as our gateway to get to other parts of Manhattan and ultimately to get back to JFK airport. The NYC subway system originally operated as three separate, competing companies [IRT - Interborough Rapid Transit; BMT - Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit; IND - Independent Subway System] before unifying in 1940. Numbered trains represent former IRT lines, whereas Lettered trains represent former BMT and IND trains. The Flushing Line platform (1 island platform with 2 tracks) opened in 1926 as part of the IRT. It now services the 7 train. The Sixth Avenue Line station (2 island platform with 4 tracks) opened in 1940 as part of the IND. It now services the B, D, F, and M trains. An underground passageway between the two stations was completed in 1971, allowing for free in-system transfers. The complex is the 13th busiest station in the system.

The station itself lets you take a tunnel to go shopping. Basically this is open air. It serves the B and Q Trains. The tracks both have express and local trains. B runs on the express. This is only on weekdays. Q runs on the local. This is only on weekends. It's in the Ditmas Park area. There's a few decent places in the plaza you can check out. It has a few banks. Right outside the station is the post office. There's a few coffee shops, a Mexican restaurant, and pizza place.

This is pretty clean for the most part. Clean considering how busy it gets. It serves the E, M, and R Trains. There's a mural of the skyline on the wall. It's by far the most interesting thing here. The station gets so busy in the morning. It's hard to get onto a train because they're all full. This is a great example of the fun you can have in a subway. It has received a few technological advances. New timers are pretty accurate. The platform is much improved but it still gets pretty busy at times.

I was on Franklin Avenue needing to go to the other side of Brooklyn ... Utica Avenue. I mapped it out via iPhone directions. I first had to enter the Franklin Avenue station find the "S" as in shuttle to catch the C train to Utica. First, finding the "S" was a maze at Franklin Avenue platform; I climbed a myriad of flights of stairs, up, down and sideways to catch the Shuttle. I boarded the S train and two stops-Park Place-then Franklyn Avenue. Then climb more stairs to catch C train to Utica. All I can say is, this procedure allowed me to really walk steps to close my rings on my Apple Watch faster than usual. The shuttle us s good idea and yes, you do see elevated perspectives like Botanical Garden. Now, let the MTA work on the ten flights of stairs I climb from the 4th Avenue station to catch the G.

The Franklin Avenue Shuttle is a MTA shuttle service operating in Brooklyn. I used to frequent this…read morestation in high school as it takes you from Bed-Stuy to Crown Heights to Prospect Park. Wow the improvements from what I can remember includes an elevator and stain glass windows. The platform used to be wood frame that would shake, you could feel the vibration as the train pulled into the station, now it is sturdy and concrete. There are now two trains cars which run between Franklin Ave and Prospect Park. The north bound Franklin Ave station has one escalator going up and you will have to take the ascending steps down stairs or take an elevator to the street level or to the lower level where you can connect to the "C" train. The south bound stop, Prospect Park connects you to the "Q", "B" or "D" train in either direction. When I was growing up the first station stop on the Franklin Shuttle after leaving Franklin Avenue was Dean Street, which remained open until 1996, but due to lack of ridership that station was torn down. On November 1, 1918, a five-car wooden elevated train derailed and crashed into one of the new tunnel walls, killing at least 93 people. This accident, called the "Malbone Street Wreck" was the worst MTA accident ever. Four stars because it is a clean station there's always an attendant visible however, the escalator does not operate consistently, it's like throwing dice...maybe it will work....maybe not.

However, this station is busy esp during rush hour and since a local stop it does get super packed. Even more if there are delays, so play wisely. Reload your OMNY card at the station before heading to the turnstyle or pay with your credit card - tap and go. The message boards display when the next trains are arriving which is helping to know how far along the trains are especially if one misses the train and has to wait. Depending on which entrance one goes down, it can be a trek to get down to the subway if one is going uptown or downtown...trial and error until one knows their way around.

The inside is pretty decent and the trains are on time. A lot smaller compared to the Barclays. It serves the 2, 3, 4, and 5 Trains. There's not so much commotion here, which makes it easier to get on trains. It's one of the stations for Boerum Hill. There's a few restaurants outside the station, mostly fast food and chains, but there's a few better ones. Fulton Street Mall is also here. They have the basic stores you find in any mall. I think it's pretty okay. It's not a fantastic station but it's good enough. The best thing about it is the proximity to Barclays and restaurants.

I have seen worker inside Sweeping, they need more than just a broom to clean the station up. The good thing about this Station is that it have a display, that show you exactly how long you have to wait for the next subway train to arrive. I really dislike this station, but just the fact that I can be on the train platform and have a good idea of the exact time I have to wait before the next train arrival is a big help. Did I say that this train is really filthy?
